thanks! my dad died in 2006; the cars are in others' hands now. they were quite the passion of his. the '32 cadillac was a 100-point vehicle purchased by jerry moore; last i heard, it was still in his collection.

Older sports cars is one of my hobbies. I had two old Opel GT's. The 71 blue one was a restored driver and the 73 red one was a show car with less than 1000 original miles. Sold both of them in the last few years. The red one is now in a private collection-museum. The oldest car I own now is an 88 Porsche convertible.

Originally , yes , it was the infamous rope drive. Originally mine had a 326 engine in it. Interesting note is that up to and including 1963 , the 326 was in reality 337 C.I. but GM didn't want to list anything bigger than Chevys 327. In 1964 it was reduced to an actual 326. Mine originally had a manual 3 speed tranny in it.
Currently
12 bolt 4:56 posi rear. ( The guy I bought it from blew up all the original rears he could find.)
1977 400 C.I. engine (8:1 compression)
Holly 750 double pumper
Muncie M 20 tranny
Hurst comp. plus shifter
13.5 1/4 mile @ 101 mph. This was done without a tach. so it should improve slightly next spring when I get one in it.

No, not anymore. At my age, they just make me feel old. With the exception of the '32 Caddy (and maybe the '47 Stude, a little), none of the cars (or the bikes) pictured here were "old cars" when I first encountered them - they were New - or at most, just a couple of years old. And that's kind of depressing, sometimes...

American muscle and lifted trucks for me.

The car in my avatar runs low 10's in the quarter mile on street tires with mufflers.
I also have a 68 SS396 ElCamino and a 79 Blazer with one ton axles and 44" Super Swampers.

I've been involved in the building of more hotrods and lifted trucks than I can remember right now..... anything from a 3" lift in an old Bronco II, a 500 cube Cadillac engine stuffed into a 77 Blazer, all the way to a six second Top Sportsman car. A few of the builds got us TV coverage on the Speed channel, a feature in Hot Rod and Drag Racing USA magazine, and a "Best Engineered" award at an IHRA national event.

Good times to say the least.

almost bought a opel GT once, the fuel injected motor I think, it was a good deal because the motor needed some sorting out, I passed because I didnt have the time to mess with it. Would have loved to bought that Blue beauty off you stewie, thats a real looker. I've seen a couple turned into drag racers, all tubbed out with BB chevy's.

My Mother had an Opal GT when I was a toddler, It burned down due to an engine fire! I love those.
