well, i'm a little sad to report that the unrestored silver beetle with electrical problems and the red 914 with the broken transmission are missing, wondering if the mechanic died or something, glad they belonged to the gf and not me or i'd probably be more upset, i told her to get the 5k and not look back

My Mom had a 1950 Stude Champion identical to this....minus the drums and mannequin. I drove it many times. Not a muscle car, but a classic of styling!

Yup. Our '53 Ford pickup had a brake like that which clamped around a large boss on the driveshaft. It was VERY positive when set.

I am really partial to muscle cars from the late 60s and early 70s. There are a few muscle cars I would love to have like these.

@murphy, thanks for chiming in. I always like seeing 'Canadian versions' of cars we got in the USA, or cars built for the Canadian market by Canadian subsidiaries of American automakers, or the occasional Australian something that was also sold in Canada.

Now, of course, my favorite Canadian cars are ones that were sold 25 years ago in Canada, mostly Japanese marques, but were not legal in the US. Hooray for the 25-year rule; where's my GT-R?

Growing up in Washington state, every now and then I'd see a Mercury pickup running around. that was the Canadian issue of the Ford pickups. I thought it would be cool to have one, as the running gear was the same but the emblems and tailgate were different.
