I keep a little disposable "musical emergency" fund ready in case something comes up . Problem is I'm pretty well equipped and don't really have any gas . Not really expecting anything to come up . If it does ... I'm ready .

Really? I think it's a terrible buyers market. I regularly see used gear marked HIGHER than what it cost new. For example, Squire Red Sparkle Telecasters were $129-180. I see them listed at $200 all the time.
I won't name names, but I've seen a few posts from musicians saying that they're struggling due to gigs being cancelled, or that they and their friends are concerned about the current situation and how they're going to pay the bills, almost asking for handouts to keep them going in some cases. In other instances, some perhaps now a genuine excuse as to why no-one turned to to see their band for once!
Live music is a nice luxury but it's general cancellation seems a smart policy at the moment.

We've lost 4 gigs in the last 2 days, so I'm not eager to spend money, or anything like that. Wealthy people will probably make a killing off desperate people though.
I wasn't on TB, in '08. Corona isn't going to stop me from buying gear. They need to come up with a cure for the Classified section of this place! I've tried therapy, Yahtzee, smoking... nothing works.

I expect new gear to become more expensive or unavailable due to supply chain problems (not just China, it’s way beyond that now), and used gear to get cheaper as people try to sell stuff to generate cash because they can’t work.

This is the real issue - gig evaporation. I'm glad I no longer gig for a living, as this is going to be ugly. Broadway closure - what's the deal on the sidelined pit musicians? I'm really anticipating pain for the folks whose income is rooted in wedding work - April through July is the height of that season, but who knows where this goes...and those folks generally are freelancers, so there ain't no safety net. Bar musicians? Touring acts, at all levels? All f****d.
