anyone not like musicman basses?

It must be something in our DNA as I love Musicman basses but have never really played a Warwick I liked.

that's a coincidence because i was hating this one too!
The Ray was the first real bass that I purchased. While shopping around I noticed that these basses are all very different, you can have six that are exactly the same visually, yet you can pick one up and it feels right to you. The sound of each is similar yet again you can find what I call the Ringer in the midst of many. I tried many different strings over the years and after obtaining my own sound I have returned back to OEM's and man was I suprised. It some times takes a while to appreciate the MM sound, and just like food we all have different tastes. I love My MM stingray 5.
It's one of the "main" brand of basses I've never owned. Fender, G&L, Lakland, Epiphone, Dean, Reverend, Gretsch, Ampeg--yes, MM, no. At this point a Sterling is a possibility, remote at best, but frankly they are a bit too "modern" for my taste, pricey for my wallet and I have the predjudice that they are for pick players, not fingerstyle players. just my .02, ymmv etc.
Why would you play a MusicMan when you could play a G&L? For one thing, basses shouldn't need batteries. For another, G&Ls are more versatile and simply better.
(The above is not opinion, it is fact, so don't argue.)
I thought the G&L actives used 9v batteries like the MM's. I know the P and P/J models are passive.

I had a Sterling, actually two, a fretted and fretless. The bass was beautifully made and felt great in my hands but it wasn't a bass I felt I could really dig into. Tonally it sounded great but ultimately just didn't give me what I was looking for and wasn't versatile enough for me. But that comes from the pickup placement more than anything else.

Ooooh, I was hating this one for hours last night.
Why would they burst a top as nice as that!?!? That quilt is beautiful! It's gotta be what, 3 or 4 A at least? If you must burst that top, please, just the very edge and not in black! I mean, I understand Anniversary and such, but come on, cherry or something of the sort, please. Or better yet, just natural.
But seriously that is awesome!
the things i don't like about EB:

5. and finally, the fact that they're so generic now... pretty much every bass player i know either wants one or has one

I love the look, the sound, the mojo - but they just don't feel right - to me. I wish they did, I would love to have one. 
Stingrays are like every other bass; you need to find the one you like. The problem is I keep finding ones I like.
