ooohhh aaahhh beautiful I love it!

I love sound of stingray(Louis Johnson,Paul Denman,Tony Levin)but can not find god sound out of mine stingray's.I own three SR5's and play them through Mesa Boogie Titan 12 and Boogie 2x12 cabs but no sound I like to have.I have much better sound with Ibanez SR 1305.Like to buy one from seventies, maybe this is the answer!!!

I always thought they looked a little odd. I never much liked the round-shaped pickguard and didn't even try one for a very long time.

However, I recently tried a friend's Stingray 4 and have to admit it sounded and played really good. It had a nice shape to the neck and very low action. A really impressive instrument once I had one in my hands. I guess it's the old 'don't judge a book by its cover' sort of thing.

Just an observation, but there are some makes of basses around here that if this thread was about them, it wouldn't last ten minutes without the OP being flamed hard and warned about starting threads that are negative about that brand. This thread lives on! Not locked or anything. huh..., I'll be.

Sorry for the derail. I have nothing against MM's.

I'm with Silverburst....love 'em all for different reasons. 20 years ago you couldnt have given me a MusicMan anything...now I own a Stingray5 and a Sterling

I really need to stop skimming through threads. I saw the word "silverburst" in your post and nearly crapped myself with beautiful images of a silverburst Stingray.

I guess I'll have to just keep dreaming...
