Apocalypse 05-21-11, here we go again! - All "rapture" posts here please

A friend of mine said he wanted to hit garage sales and thrift stores and buy a whole truckload of cheap pairs of shoes, then fill them with dry ice and leave them all over town so it looked as if their occupants had just evaporated.

Be sure to stuff a sock into each shoe for added realism. ;)

Meh, I'm still planning to play soccer on Sunday.

if, and i mean a really big IF, mr. camping is correct, then those left behind are not going to be having any fun at all.

sorry, to burst that bubble. somebody is gonna have egg on their face by saturday nite. can't wait to find out who.........

As you say, big if. I'm a Christian myself and I don't believe anything I hear about a formula for the date of the Apocalypse, regardless of who is saying it.

Awwwww, I wanna stay behind if it's going to be fun here on Earth.

How could it not be fun? All the stuffy people can be up in heaven eating grapes and sitting on clouds playing harps...

Meanwhile, all us sinners are left on earth, listening to heavy metal as we drive monster trucks in donuts on the church lawn, shooting up heroin, drinking scotch and having group sex on rollercoasters. They might call it hell, but only cuz we'll be having a hell of a good time.

I can't play the harp....:bawl:

And sounds like a hoot of a party! I'll bring the JD...

Did you ask him what proof he had that every computer system would crash and leave us in the Dark Ages? Actually, that sounds pretty sweet too... everyones (meaningless) debt wiped away, no electricity, no pollution (well, no new pollution), just imagine.

In this day and age, it takes five minutes of missing Internet to build a camp, elect a leader and eat a worker in the office.

Oh yeah, I asked him. Can't remember who but there was some "religious" radio host guy who also had these newsletters that you could subsrcibe to ($$$). My coworker use to listen to this guy, also got the newsletters and just full tilt believed everything this guy said. I said "John, I can't believe you fell for another one of these greedy scam artists who scares people into sending them money." John said, "well, if you'd take time to read the bible like you should and knew it as well as I and this guy do then you'd be afraid too." Uh...okay, John.

Listen, while I'm by no means perfect I am a believer and I do believe that one day the **** is going to hit the fan. I'm no bible scholar at all, but if it's written that God and ONLY God knows when the end will happen then I believe it.

Ive got to ask it, because Im genuinely curious and there was an article linked earlier about how belief in this Saturdays Rapture is tearing families apart, but is there anyone on TB who actually believes Rapture will begin come Saturday?

Im asking honestly, and I can give my word I wont ask a single followup question or rib you for your beliefs*.

*I can't speak for others, however.

I will confess I'm actually genuinely worried about if something really is going to happen tomorrow. Not going to quote Bible stuff here but there IS a passge in the Bible about not knowing the hour and day that the end of the world will happen.

That same passage is the one that proves it to me that he didn't actually find the date in the Bible. I don't think the rapture is happening tomorrow

I'm sure plenty of things will happen tomorrow, but not the rapture. I'm positive of that, and I'll post here on Sunday to remind you.
