Are BC rich good?

The only major US bass maker I can think of off hand who has never had a budget line is Rickenbacker.

Well, BC rich may well have upgraded its offering, or they made a one-off to show everyone that they used to be cool; I would *really* like to hear that they have come back to the US and are making instruments like they used to - but I have not. But again, that picture is of what I'm guessing is a recreation of a very old (and very cool) 8 string bass that I *dearly* wanted when I was a kid... or it's a re-furbed model that was just on display. I don't know - didn't go this year.

Rickenbacker did have a budget line at one point. I think it was the 3000 series.

That thing is an abomination,take a closer look,the pick ups are too close together,you might just as well have 1 pick up there,also look at the position of the E string drone tuner behind the bridge-Yuck

And I did own a 2003 USA Eagle not too long ago

The 2007 Widow has the best neck of any of my BCR's,and that includes the vintage ones

I cannot comment on the playability of the W.M.D. Widow,as I've never seen one,but find one and try it out

This is a 2008 B.C. Rich Bich Supreme 8-string bass. They have been made in 4- and 8-string since the 1970s.

This one is part of their Handmade series (basically their custom shop). It features Maple neck-thru construction, Koa sides, DiMarzio pups, a BadAss bridge and active electronics. It retails for about $5,500.

Hardly mass-produced junk.
