Both Precision and Jazz basses are great basses. Is one better than the other? Well, that’s all opinion really. I used to never be a fan of either types. For years I was a die hard Ibanez Soundgear fan. I still am a fan of those basses but in the last few years, I have come to appreciate both Precision and Jazz style basses. I now have a K B Guitars custom shop P bass with a second one starting production soon. I am also now selling almost all of my Ernie Ball Music Man basses to purchase a Sadowsky NYC 5 J style bass.

Sounds like a plan...

Can somebody from the J-affinity-boys-group please explain to me how to dial in an appropriate output from the two Vol-potis unless both are full on? What's the use of having two pickups and two Vol-potis when the tone changes significantly in the slightest turn of one knob? Not to discuss humming of the single single-coils ...

As for single coil 'hum', it's present, but it's a small price to pay for that GROWL.
