Are Squier guitars underrated?

Nah, I prefer this:
Mistake in writing brand name, what's so wierd ?That's a new one...I have a Classic Vibe P-Bass 60's and it is very close to the real thing (being Fender). I would say, they are appreciated here, but I'm not sure how they are perceived by other band members/recording engineers/producers and so on, just do like MonoNeo and put a sock on the headstock and all will be good.
The Vintage Vibe series is totally under rated. I picked one up as a project bass and only ever changed the PUs. It was a great bass! I have other basses that I play much more, so I passed it on to someone who needed a starter bass but I felt it was much more than that.
I had an VM P bass 5.One of best sounding p basses I played,even compared to high end stuff imo.

When I was in Australia last year, my 10-year old grandson got a Squier PJ Affinity package with the small Fender amp for Christmas. I was thoroughly impressed by it. Was built well, sounded good, and the neck was much more comfortable to play than on previous Fender Precision basses I'd tried. It was still as wide as a normal P-bass but has a much shallower C-shape neck. I think they are great, especially for the money.
Since it seems like we have a thread like this almost every week, I'd say no. It's a good inexpensive bass, no more, no less.
I think they may have been in the past, but not anymore. I can't think of a better value, you can certainly gig with em all day long.
So true! You can find great Squiers! Here’s my two and I love them! I have owned more real Fenders than I can count and the Squiers are great! The PBass is 14 years old and the Jag SS IS NEW.
They are pretty sweet- especially with a dope green paint job!

They’re fine basses, but I think they tend to be overrated here rather than underrated. Just an opinion.
Its 14 years old and you still have not taken the sticker off????? Man that would drive me crazy, I cant even drink a beer without picking the label off the bottle.
I just changed the neck on my Squier fretless P bass for a MIM fretless jazz neck. The MIM is better, but the Squier was a very reasonable entry level neck which served me for a year. Squiers are what they are. Very good for the price. Great starter basses, and if they're good enough for what you want, then they're good enough. If a MIM or a MIA is not going to meet your purposes better in any specific way, then stay with the Squier.
But sometimes MIM or MIA has features you want - nuts, bridge, better fretting, graphite rods, pickups, tuners.....then you get one.
And there is always the fact that a well set up bass will knock the spots off a badly set up bass, whatever the country of origin and price point.

My Classic Vibe 60s JB is one of the nicest Jazz basses I've played, I'd take one over any Mexican Fender.
squier bass's are excellent so good back in the day they got fender worried so fender brought the company.
Nobody who has shopped entry level in the last 5 years thinks badly of Squier, I think.
