My #1 for years. 83-84 MIJ SQ. Fantastic bass in every way but one...at nearly 10lbs it’s not my first choice for long gigs

I will have to agree with you on that. It's pretty amazing what kind of a $200 bass they put out. Mine looks and plays great. Very pleased.Their guitars are OK, but TBH their basses are even better.
I played a 1984 Squier JV jazz bass for some decades. Yes, the build quality was very good, neck awesome, but the sound was mediocre/lifeless. After swapping PUs for SD Antiquity II's, it comes alive. Maybe nowadays the stock PUs are better.I believe that the Squier's WHEN THEY FIRST CAME OUT were really underrated. But I also think that the newer ones are not quite in that league. Still, pretty good for the money.
Lol! no just got it! Owned by a long time Fender employee. Lived in his closet for 14 years untouched! Its 14 years old and you still have not taken the sticker off????? Man that would drive me crazy, I cant even drink a beer without picking the label off the bottle.
