One of my better playing and sounding basses, actually.
I've been playing Warmoth basses for years. Sometimes people ask what it is. I tell them and they are universally unimpressed. In fact it usually ends the conversation.

I bet you don't have an instrument like That 1 Guy:

It's the "Magic Pipe", which he ("That 1 Guy" is his stage name) built, it's got bass strings on the two long segments (the upright and the dangling diagonal) and it's otherwise covered with synth and sample trigger buttons, which he also has a bunch of scattered around under his feet. He also plays a mic'ed cowboy boot (quite impressive really) and a musical saw. One of the most original performers I've ever witnessed - truly unique and very entertaining.Ok I'll bite. *** is that? And why is that guy surrounded by drunk pedals?
Great. Typing from the toilet and you quoted me before I could correct my original post. XD. I probably am “that guy”, but I do my best not to come off like “that guy” as described by the OP.
Well, the one I posted just disappeared, sorry.![]()
I'm somewhat confused by this. I never try to be offensive or elitist. In fact, I always encourage other bass players to try my gear out. I do enjoy playing gear that's different from the rest of my local peers...
Awesome bass taste!I am kind of "that guy" when it comes to weird basses, though. Got me one of these:

And currently shopping for (edit: correction: just bought) one of these:

It's actually not a TJ, though it has the deep cutaway. Smaller (Sonus) body and set neck. And slightly narrower string spacing. Basically I worked with Joe to make the perfect bass for me. Which he did, in spades.I really dig the Zon TJ's! That's definitely an "If I ever win the lottery" bass.
Thanks, man. The MAS cabs DO sound amazing. They fill a room (with no dead spots) like nothing else I've ever played through or heard. Those cabs look extremely impressive - I imagine the sound is too!
And that Zon! drool I should trade in a few dozen cheaper weird basses and get a couple of nice ones (well, got some nice ones too, but no Zon yet).
That big Balor is really cool. Here’s that crazy seven string Balor @bholder mentioned! I’ve got a green five string fretless too! Some of the best basses I’ve ever played by far!
Is that a Lane Poor Minima bass I see?A few more of my "less usual" basses:
