Argument in store over used bass

As I look back and reflect upon all that I've read and tried to process, it appears this thread is lacking but one final element...........a Chuck Norris reference. Allow me to do the honors.........

And Chuck says, "You dbags really need to quit carping on the lack of salmon, and get back to playing with your bass"

If he said that to me in a dead-end aisle of a music store, I'd go all Chuck Norris on Chuck Norris. Which would cause a rip in the space-time continuum, and turn us into guacamole.

The other person said out loud "Look a bass for $89- it's coming home with me".....
WHO WAS HE SAYING THIS OUT LOUD TO? if not to the op...
I think he knew the op was trying out the bass and this other er... person was itching for a fight all along. He was probably not even interested in buying the bass but just wanted to pick a fight with someone at the store.

I think he was just teasing the OP, and successfully got his goat.

There, now we have goats in the thread.

Just updating the list...

So, for the record this thread now touches on the topics of...
Douschebagery (both initial and reactive)
Goth (and all its variations)
Black Friday (and similar sales events)
Salmon (and related species and various prep and serving methods and the wisdom thereof)
Tacos (mostly fish)
Plants (various types)
Birds (well just cormorants)
Engineering degrees (mechanical and electrical)
Driving directions (how many rights does it take to turn left)
Football (and associated beer fest rituitals)
Voting (voters rights on polls or at polling locations)
Manifest Destiny (including wagon trains and indigenous people)
Liberal Arts Degrees (all inclusive)
Turkey Vultures (circling over the lib arts buildings)
Zombie Apocolipse (replaced with the much deadlier dbag apocolipse)
Chuck Norris (and back to the future references)
Carp (really big ones)
Bruce Lee (vs Chuck Norris)
Guacamole (on fish tacos)
Kosher salmon (and peace in the Middle East)
Goats (and who's is getting gored)
Puma's (in your pants)
Halitosis (female only)
Burritos (flying or otherwise)
Steelhead (not a salmon but just as cute)
Metal (what's the best fish for it)
Penguins with Guns (just as cute as steelhead, maybe more so)
Canadians (how cold is cold)
Americans (how rude can you get)
Firesign Theater (this one really burns me up)
Monte Python (spank me!)
Delivery Trucks (with fresh wild caught salmon as opposed to stale domesticated salmon)
Keyboards and replacement keyboards (drenched in coffee)
Space balls (gone to plaid)
Talking in tongues (with or without them)
Leaping girlfriends (analogies)
... And I think, but I'm not exactly sure, a bass may have been briefly mentioned somewhere in the thread.

You are forgetting a few things. These are just what I can think of:

Halitosis
Burritos
Steelhead
Metal
Penguins with Guns
Canadians
Americans
Firesign Theater
Monte Python
Delivery Trucks
Keyboards and replacement keyboards

No bass was harmed in the production of this thread. Brain cells died, but they were surplus and therefore expendable.

The problem with an analogy is that at the root of it, it's just an analogy. Your scenario and the scenes at a grocery store are different situations and do not necessarily map 1:1 with the account posted by the OP.

But speaking of analogies, here's one: Say you have a girlfriend (a leap, I know), call her GF1, but you start seeing someone else (GF2) on the side. Then Mr. Dbag comes along, falls in love with GF1, and asks her to marry him. Do you have any territorial rights to GF1?

What's the leap? Me having a girlfriend? Or your analogy?
