Argument in store over used bass

Yes I grabbed it after I explained to him that I was playing/testing it out and him being an inconsiderate lack of courtesy having smarting off dbag.At that point the guy had pissed me off.
Yeah, this whole idea that it's not reasonable to compare multiple instruments simultaneously is ridiculous. The idea that it's not impolite for someone to usurp an item you're in the process of evaluating is asinine.
Yes, if the item is not in a person's hands, it is indeed fair game. True.
If the second person takes advantage of said fair game right in front of the other person, they're very possibly an entitled prick. Also true.
Or it could have been a misunderstanding and it could have been handled differently. Something tells me that if it was just a simple misunderstanding, "d-bag" wouldn't have reacted the way they did. A better reaction would be, "I'm sorry. I didn't notice you. Would you mind if I tried it out when you're done?"

Unfortunately, in this day & age common courtesy doesn't exist. Most folks are looking out for themselves as shown in this story.
Forget joining the Thunderbird Club. Obviously there's only one club worth joining in situations like this......
There's three sides to every story: your side, his side, and the truth. I wasn't there. I don't know how the whole thing really went down, but if there was a point where he was holding a bass in his hands and you grabbed it, that was a borderline violent action. You're lucky he didn't counter that with a full-on violent action.

Well, stupidity does happen in clusters, but I think everyone's reactions so far are not that stupid.
I think both the OP and the subject of his ire were being jerks in their own way, both being impolite and inconsiderate, as others have pieced together upthread. But hey, he got a bass. End of story. No head to headstock contact to report.
