Second dude should have spoken to the OP before picking up the bass. It should have been pretty obvious that he was trying it out. And once the OP said something to him he should have put the bass back down and moved on.

And as someone who has three sub $100 T Birds (2 players, one being refinished) If I were the OP I would own four now. LOL

Well, it seems to have worked in your favor, but it sounds like you could have handled it better. Maybe you wouldn't have ended up in an argument if you had responded nicer to begin with. You should also be careful just walking up and grabbing onto something in another man's hand. You might not get so lucky next time.

He's probably one of those guys who thinks that right to carry means "feel free to brandish your weapon to get your way. It is in no way illegal". They also seem to not realize that brandishing your weapon in an attempt to intimidate or get your way is a sure fire way to get said gun shoved up your ass.

The manager should have offered to cut the bass in half, pricing each half at $45. That would sort out who the REAL owner is quite quickly.
