Pandaman: Glad you like the SB-1000! That bass sure has been around the world, eh?

Mikeus: if you want a Billy Gould style Integra, I may be able to help you out...PM me.

Stan_da_man: I have wanted to try out the IGB-68's they do look nice! But of the newer IGBs, I only have experience with the IGB-380 (IGB-49 on the Aria international site) and I was disappointed with overall quality and sound. It's not the worst bass ever, in fact probably a good beginner bass, but it does not live up to the standards of Integras past. The 68 looks like a step up, though. I would definitey give one of those a try.

To anybody who cares: I just picked up an old SB-Elite I but some fool spray painted it black, with a red undercoat as "primer" I guess. So I am going to attempt to restore it. I have some lacquer thinner and it looks like that will work in removing the offending finish. When (if?) I get it all done, I will post before and after pics! BTW, the original finish, Phantom Blue, appears to be alive and well hiding under the black, so I hope to save it! It would be a lot easier than trying to completely refinish the bass (plus I would lose the original Aria Pro II logo and text on the headstock).

Looks like a lot of knowledge in this forum. Got me excited about bass again. Bought this in '89, know it was manufactured in '86. Thought it was an SB R80, but leaning to the Elite II (is there a difference?). Serial #6013438. Any help would be appreciated.

MikeUs,

Love the sarcasm. (I hope). But really, I want to know what this is. You can't look these babies up like you can Fender's.

Believe it or not, I sold a 72 P-bass and and 68 Jazz for this baby. Didn't hurt in the day, but if I only knew.

Andy.

Yup, Thats an Elite II. I've got one also. Although Mine is dark brown stain with natural neckthru. My bass is post-matsumoku (non-recessed output jack, no serial number) although I don't think its one of the Korean models. I need to do more research on it. :)

There's photos a few pages back. ;)

Thanks fellas,

I bought this guitar from my sister's boyfriend (Deadstring Brothers) when I was in High School in the Detroit area. John Taylor was way cooler than Fender's to me at the time. Hadn't played in years; until my 6 yr old daughter wanted to play with it a couple of weeks ago, and piqued my interest in it again. She got her Epiphone Jr. today. Watch out Osmonds!! :bassist:

and i'm in the club!!!!!
i got this wonderful all original 1980 SB1000..some dings and scratch but nothing really really major...it miss the rotary knobs..if someone can help me find me one..or something similar that can work for that..please help

Just got this very funky Aria Pro II Precise Bass. It has a 70's style neck, real close spacing at the nut. Body is ONE PIECE ASH, nitro finish. Came w/ a white guard which came off immediately! Pick ups are great, real strong. The only thing they missed the boat on is the bridge, and I am about to replace it with a BadAssII.
I also just got a brand new Lakland Darryl Jones, and guess what? I gigging w/ the Aria! Sounds real 70's with Ken Smith Slick ground wounds and the neck fits my hand just right. I had a '71 Jazz and this Aria is every bit as good.
