Arizona Bass Players

Tucson here. Full time student, father of three and full time waiter. No time left for an actual band. I play with a few friends, usually on thursday nights. Been playing bass for about four months now.

Played a lot of brass and piano growing up then took 15 years or so off from learning music. Now I'm back with what seems to be a very expensive hobby ;)

Update: I'll be playing with the US Army MI Corps band at La Placita Village Plaza - I believe there's a food festival going on. We're hitting around six or seven and will play for two hours. Please come say hello, my name is John.

More AZ needed!

I did a search for this group and found this thread.

Used to live in Cottonwood, worked in Sedona for awhile.

Been putting in for a lot of jobs in AZ and finally landed an interview for a position in Mesa.

Please wish me luck and send mojo waves. I would love to move my family back to Arizona!

Yeah, Sierra Vista doesn't really get the blast furnace. Actually some of the best all-around weather on the planet.

Cool place if you like the outdoors; Wooly Mammoths, Paleo indians, Old West gunfighters. I like the area around Brunckow's Cabin; the San Pedro river, the mine shafts, etc.

I grew up in Phoenix, spend a couple years in Austin (mid-80s) and a couple in Seattle (late-80s), and then ten years in Sierra Vista. Living on the beach in California now.

All that time living in Sierra Vista and I never knew that Ed Friedland was up in Tucson until I heard he was moving to Austin. Would have like to have taken a few lessons.

Yes. I had to resurrect it. So excited about the possibility of moving back to Arizona I went searching specifically for the "Arizona Bass Players" thread, and found it!

In addition to the interview I have lined up for the Mesa job, over the last couple of weeks I have put in for jobs in Prescott Valley, Scottsdale and Lake Havasu City.

Later this week I am going to apply for a couple of jobs in Globe, about 75 miles East of PHX in Gila County. It's a beautiful area, and we don't mind smaller towns. My only issue with Globe is that I'm afraid it would be hard to find a home to rent.

Welcome to AZ!!! I'm in North Phoenix. Been here for over 25 years now. I consider myself a born again Zonie!! Grew up out side of Cleveland and I do not miss the snow & cold at all.

Not gigging right now, but working on putting a show together. Just landed a decent drummer and we're moving forward. Cheers!!

I don't think I have ever played a show with you guys.
I was in Walt Flanagan's Dog and Dick Hazard for the first part of the 2000s. I played in 80*D for the past 8 years and now play in The Gamma Function and Swapmeat. I will keep an eye out for you guys.
