I swapped a NOS Telefunken ribbed plate tube into my Oracle. It seemed to make the sound warmer and clearer at the same time. It’s not a night and day difference, but it’s a noticeable improvement to my ears. I really like it!
I did a bit more tube rolling, this time while playing in a mix instead of soloed. While I prefer the Telefunken soloed, I actually prefer the stock JJ tube in a mix. I also tried an old RCA 7025 that was really good soloed and in a mix. The stock JJ is what I’m keeping in for now. I can say that tube rolling does have an affect in the Oracle. Some devices sound the same no matter what tube you put in, probably because they don’t have enough voltage going to the tube.

Thanks. I have a Zephyr, it came with a Sovtek, which sounds fine. But "prefer stock JJ in a mix" caught my attention - especially since one of my groups may be upgrading PA and I might go ampless with just the Zephyr into the board. We're semi-acoustic (vocals, acoustic guitar, real piano when available, else electronic keyboard). What's your mix?

No surprises here, but the Beast thru the Bergantino still sounds great.
Moreso when you can turn it up a bit!

I've used several: Fifth Gear, Parabellum v2, Lil Fella, and MBD2. Works great with drive, to my ears anyway. The Fifth Gear is where I landed long term, but the MBD2 was more versatile, and the Parabellum was by far the most unique. The Fella felt a bit boxy and didn't last long, but it may have just been my setup.

Wow these are some seriously awesome boards, and exactly what I was hoping to hear! Can’t wait to get my Oracle. Thanks!

Ive had a handful of Arkham pieces but settled on the Oracle on my board, and just ordered a custom 1200w power amp from Micah, which has a 1200w ICE module, a driver at the front of it, and a low 30hz steep HPF. in other words, the perfect ICE power amp. should take a line from my Oracle and essentially, according to Micah be a "modular BOBW". Love this stuff.

I've thought about the same thing before. Might be a better upgrade for me than just the Beast, since it wouldn't duplicate the front end, and I have no intention of letting the Oracle go.

Yeah, I also really like having that control on my board, and then the power can live on top of the amps. The form factor of the Oracle really hits the nail on the head for me.
