I've yet to ever feel like I need more speaker or volume, but that may be the result of having reasonable stage volume with the band.

It's probably all in my head, but this 212 just sounds better to me than some dual 112 setups I tried (GK, Eden, & Boogie).
This is also my first Berg cab, so it could just be the voicing of this cab in particular that I like better.

That being said, I'm still happy to schlep my Acme cab to jams while leaving the Berg at the practice space.
It's heavier than the Berg, but it's quite manageable.
Everyone loves the sound it makes, myself included, so it's worth the weight (for now).
Plus, it's OLD, looks funky, and I enjoy surprising people with it.

I've got a question for y'all about the Beast of Both Worlds amp. I've been hunting around for a grab-and-go version of my Aguilar DB751 and I've seen this amp tossed around as a possible candidate.
What I like about my DB751 is its quick, authoritative tone, and growling low mids. It punches super hard. It is also kinda of heavy and ridiculously loud. I never turn up past 9 'o clock.
My concern is a lot of people using Arkham gear seem to be into vintage tones. I play fast and heavy. Not super distorted, but I like a big beefy tone with good articulation. I went with the DB751 because Alex Webster and Nick Schendzielos play one. Can the BoBW do that sort of aggressive playing?

Zephyr into 1 side of a QSC 1804 or Peavey IPR 3000DSp into ... what ?

I see F212's being popular here. Should I start with my fEarful 15/6 ? Genz Benz Neox 212 T or MAS compact 15/6. I do aslo have a couple of 1x15 Black Widow loaded 'slot port' cabs.

Same...I play some pedals through my Oracle on my practice rig and it DOOMs super hard. It is also versatile and I can play some tasty Motown, blues and reggae with it. It's amazing.

Oracle into WD800 (sometimes just the power amp, but often through the front end) into Subway 115 is good for me. I've also toyed with the idea of a Bergantino NXT212, which to me would be a one size fits all cab, but then my main gig is direct anyway, so it's moot at this point.

I guess my dream rig if I was going on the big tour would be a BOBW or Oracle/zypher into power amp with either a Barefaced or Revsound 212. What I actually do is my Oracle into a TC BAM200 front end or the power amp in/fx return on an ampeg pf500. Into my much beloved Revsound 112. These days it’s a lot of ampless gigs though, I prefer it in big rooms.

IMO, it's a really simple tone stack that you might find on any number of amps. Kind of a blank canvas - a really nice blank canvas.
To me, it's like having a really nice old vintage amp - but without the limitations of a tube power section. So unless you are going for "Power Tube" breakup I think you can kind of do anything with it.

The Zephyr and Oracle can do motown very easily, but there is a nice strong dynamic that can do other genres just fine. Alot of that has to do where the mids, and gain are.

Agreed.

I am not into vintage tones AT ALL and I get a nice and clean sound with a midrange bump that I love.
I play fretless 99% of the time, and the EQ pairs nicely with the sound I like.

question for Oracle owners:

Is anyone else getting low level hum/buzz from theirs? I have it on my pedalboard and thought maybe there was a ground loop issue, and have run the power off a separate outlet, still buzz. Run it by itself without the rest of the board and still getting a little buzz. I sent it back to Micah a few months back and it got a clean bill of health, so im a bit stumped. Maybe my expectations for noise floor are unreasonable, but its a little too loud of a buzz to not be irked by it. Only other thing I can think of is maybe swapping tubes to see if its a tube issue, or if a lower gain tube mitigates it. Just curious if others's are dead silent or what.

Aside from a slightly dusty volume pot, idk if I would say DEAD silent, but it’s pretty damn close. I can double check and see if I can make it hum but messing with the settings, but I haven’t noticed a hum and my noise standards are pretty obnoxious since I do a lot of IEM gigs.

yeah, im trying not to be a stickler for dead quiet, as Im using a robust-sized pedalboard, an active bass with some treble boost, and a cab with a tweeter, but I have to acknowledge that the Oracle is adding a noticeable amount of hum to the whole picture. when I use the same setup and bypasss it, things get a whole lot quieter.

I really want to figure out how to make it work, because to my ears, pretty much nothing sounds better as a pedalboard option. I wager that its better than the Noble, if you factor in just the flexibility that the range control offers for the EQ.

Someone recommended an Ebtech plug for it, to see if it can filter out some noise, but Im not sure its a ground issue, and I dont love the idea of problem solving with another $90 doohicky to cart around. Especially if others' Oracles are quiet. I suppose a different tube is the logical next troubleshooting step
