Just received this Lions Pride Skjold on Thursday.
Ash/Myrtle Burl top/Maple neck and board w the East/Skjold preamp
pickups in the 70's position can duplicate the vintage sound (well pretty close anyway) as well as the modern.

Just a quick 'on the gig' report on the new MV5 (pictured in the original post).
I now have done 5 gigs in a variety of rooms with the orange bomber (NYC MV5, solid ash body, Sadowsky single coils, for those who don't feel like going to the top of the thread). I've used either the Epi410UL(II) or the Bergantino AE410 with the Markbass F1 head.
Wonderful!. This bass really loves the Epi410, due to the MV5's strong growl and mid character overlayed on the wide, smooth, crisp EpiUL voicing. This particular MV5, quite frankly, is a little much with the Berg AE410 (although still very nice, but LOTS of growl and grit in the 800hz to 2K space). This bass with the Sadowsky Blue Label steels has a very strong 'hear the windings of the roundwounds all the way down to the open B' sort of vibe. It can be a bit frightening, especially with the BergAE/F1 rig... no slop allowed there!!!!
The tone sits right where the bass sits in the picture at the start of this thread. It is more aggressive, modern and active sounding than the very passive and pure/vintage sounding Alleva, but is more mid punchy, tight, and growly (more 'modern J', but still with a strong nod to an ash/maple Fender-like active J tone) than the huge low end, and sizzly active top end of the 'on steroids' Celinder. It really sits in the mix wonderfully, and the single coils eliminate that kind of upper mid clack and lower mid hole that I experiences with previous, lighter weight MV's with the stock HC pickups IMO.
