I was really in good shape regarding amps when this so-called deal surfaced. My situation hasn't changed. I saw it as a potential opportunity to upgrade one of my heads, a Kustom KXB500, if it had worked out. Life goes on for me....
I got the rm800 evo elsewhere for 599 and I'm very happy with it. Sounds amazing compared to my pf500, which is getting moved to keyboard amp duty now. I got a non evo rm but tried it out and sent it back. The Evo with the output at 8 o'clock is louder than the non evo turned all the way up. Same preamp settings and everything. The power amp is definitely upgraded on the evo.
That's what I needed to hear. Now I can stalk one to hopefully find me a deal......
My one complaint is that the onboard compressor drops the volume substantially. I haven't fiddled with it too much, and maybe I have to set my input gain different to get it working right. I have a heavy electronics sonic oppressor on my pedalboard that I rather enjoy the sound of anyway. I'll probably never use the drive, comp, or sub.
Well I may have gotten an amp but it worked for about 20 minutes and now it won’t turn on. Hear some relays clicking but no light and no sound . I think I’m giving up on this and going elsewhere.

When I talked to MF, they said that they were getting more EVOs at some point but it seemed to be a few months off. They said they would notate my account to get it at $349 when they come back in stock. We'll see if that actually happens.

Yeah. I'm still liking it. Out of the "honeymoon phase" and I don't have any regrets. I play it through a single Eden d212 xlt 8 ohm, and I get plenty of volume. I don't have to crank the output like I did with my pf 500. It's got a nice full tone, with plenty of shaping options. It's the best amp head I've owned... But it's also only my third "real" amp.
I should have mine on the 2nd. My hope is that it will replace my Kustom KXB500. If it does, I'll have it, a Bugera Veyron M and a Quilter Bass Block 800. I've been using the Bass Block mostly as of late.
The Veyron and Bass block were on my list of potential candidates when I was shopping for an amp. The bass block scared me away with it's conservative preamp section, and the bugera just scared me away because behringer. The bass block with a quality preamp pedal seems like it could be a sweet setup though.
Man, don't let that sparse preamp fool you! It's pretty powerful. The Gain & Master interact with each other as well as the Depth & Contour. I don't use an additional preamp with my Bass Block. Try one if you get a chance.
The Veyron is also a very nice amp. Not sure what you hang ups are regarding Behringer but they may no longer be applicable. The Bugera amps are very well made and sound great.
I would gladly try out both of those amps, it's just difficult to find things locally. Behringer just gets a lot of negative press. I try not to judge a company based on what other people say, but that stuff can sit in the back of your mind while researching a purchase. I don't think I've ever even used a behringer product. Probably shouldn't knock it until I try it.
There are a LOT of people playing through the Veyrons with minimal reports of trouble. Have been for quite a while. They're good amps.

I wound up going for a deal on eBay from a store in Weest Virginia. They listed it as an EVO and sent me just the regular RM-800. I returned it today. That's the second failed EVO deal for me. I guess it's just not meant to be.......
But it's not the EVO. If you read the description it's the single input RM-800. Still a fantastic deal though, and half tempted to grab one as a back up option......
