I registered to vote pretty soon after my 18th birthday, and have not missed an election since then. My view is that a couple of things have happened. First, the voice of propaganda is much stronger. Second, districts have gotten more polarized (in no small part due to gerrymandering) so that people have a harder time believing that their vote counts.

Here are some "movements" that have received pivotal support from boomers:

Global warming denial
The so called "culture wars," e.g., Moral Majority etc.
Mass incarceration
Voter ID

I believe that's the "Mad Max Fury Road" edition.

Reminds me of the buck rake I used to ride to clean up long grass cut by my dad on a 1949 Allis-Chalmers wheel tractor.

We had four acres and he cut the grass on about 2 acres of it with that tractor and a side cutter bar. the buck rake was pulled behind the tractor to pick up the cut grass. The kid riding on the buck rake stomped a lever next to the seat, and the tines would raise up and dump the grass wherever desired.

In the picture below, note the wood guard that has been added on the cutter bar. That's because the bar with the blades is pretty sharp and when it's in the upright position, you don't want the bar shifting downward while anyone's fingers are between the teeth on the bar. ("Just call me stumpy.") This is a shot of a display on a vintage farm.

Is that a boomer lawnmower? It's old and tired. It would like to retire but there is still so much to do before it runs out of gas completely. Tell that mower to relax and pace itself. Either that or send it to California where people like grass.

The reason for this is they were not taught in schools run by left wing radicals. And they are smart enough not to fall for the nonsense.

I was in management but I gave it up a long time ago. Too many snot nosed punks who wanted to manage from the corner. They wanted to make the decisions and have me take the responsibility for it. Phah! Plus the silent generation who was in upper management at the time were no help at all. All they cared about was making the stock holders happy so they could get their bonus and keeping the union out. Phah!
I also hate, hate, hate wearing a suit and tie. Those ties around your neck cause brain damage. I think that is the root of all our problems in this country. A pox on your concrete suits and neck ties!
