This is a screen grab from the Invalid Link Removed. Can anyone add a picture that shows the curve of an MTD asym neck? It might be tough to sight down the neck, but maybe someone is up to the challenge! MT said it was like an "airplane wing," so I get it, but it'd be good to see it as well. (Unless one of these shows up at GC, I'm not going to see it in person unless I buy one and that's more trouble than it's worth at the mo.)
Very dramatic! The thought to take profile impression impresses me!I don't have a 5-string, but I took impressions of my MTD Beast 4-string (handmade, Czech Republic, serial #99) at the 1st and 12th frets and laid them out on a cutting mat. Should give you a pretty good sense of how the asymmetry works... thanks for asking - been meaning to document that for awhile.
While the Warmoth is a good sample (and the only thing I've found online)... I think the asymmetry there is much more subtle - you can see that particularly in the 12th fret impression.
