I couldn't pass up the 305 either. I got the red sparkle 300 yesterday and just got the 305, both for under $312.
I hate all of you. I'm one hack of a bass player with gear that exceeds my playing capacity yet here I am with a black sparkle 305 on the way. I really do hate all of you!!

It's really funny/ironic. I was gonna pick up an ATK from a local craigslist ad at 200 dollars, and everyone here advised me to jump on it. By the time I got back to the guy, it had already sold....now, a few weeks later, I'm getting one brand new for less!

I hear these are very heavy shoulder-breakers, true? I like the sunburst over the black sparkle. What is a used one in sunburst going for, and when were they discontinued?

i had a quote for the sunburst 5'er for 219 anyone is welcome to. not sure if those are sold out or not?
EDIT: just realized when i clicked the link, it said the trifade burst is "special order", and when you click on the text it says they're unavailable.
as far as we all know, they were JUST discontinued, and word is that musiciansfriend/music123 bought up all remaining stock (probably for pennies, allowing these kinds of deals). i know people are worried about the end of the ATK line, but i'm pretty sure this is to make way for an updated model. there was a thread a few days back showing some of the new models Ibanez was debuting at Bass Player Live... it wasn't prominently featured, but in the array of basses you could see a natural finish 5 string ATK that looked a little bit different than the existing line. I'd be willing to bet we'll hear all about it at NAMM in january.

Haha, I was thinking the same thing. That, or they're gonna ship in pieces. Maybe they'll just package them in a garbage bag and send 'em out
I'm actually pretty psyched about this. I'm a five string player, but I've been looking to get into a decent/inexpensive 4 string for a new Black Flag'esque band that I've been playing in recently.

wow, that's a particularly pretty sunburst model! looks like he keeps it well polished.
actually he's got a whole bunch of vids that sound pretty good. nothing fancy about the tone, but it works well on all those songs. getting excited for mine to arrive!
^ If you give them a call I'm pretty sure they will drop it down to 220. They are giving only a 110% price match according to the heading on the 305s.
