US: South atlanta area members and beyond

Atlanta-area member here...up Lawrenceville way.

Hey... not too far.... I'm in a little town nestled between Lawrenceville, Snellville, and Loganville.

About to be a non-Atlantan TB'er in a months time, wife got a gig in Indy that starts 7/1.

I had the opportunity to visit Indy (corporate home of Steak and Shake) and Bloomington. They have a decent live music scene there. I was most surprised by the large amount of soybean that they grow in the area... and be prepared for winter!

Yeah I'm looking to farm (peppers) a little while there as a side thing, but I'm not looking forward to the cold. Never been a fan of winter, I lived in Boston for 20+ years growing up and didn't dig it when it got cold.

I'm hopeful on the music scene as I learn the new surroundings. I think that I'll still get a little flurry of my GA gigs and being close to Lex/L'ville some what, I'll be able to rustle up some folks that I used to play with when I lived there. Even though we don't close on either GA or IN houses till 6/16 & 6/20, I have a wedding gig in Indy during Memorial Day weekend.

We need to make a gtg happen folks

I use to run a bang hang at the Gwinnett Guitar Center on Pleasant Hill.

We would being in our own basses, sometimes amps and cabs and run a LONG jam session. People would play bass lines, others would play chords, we would solo then switch parts.

They are a very bass friendly team there... maybe I need to set another one up.
