Did anyone try it out at NAMM?
- John
I was asking anyone and everyone that went to NAMM to check it out. So far, all I've seen is one video on YouTube from Guitar World, with no playing demo.

Things have been pretty quiet at Atomic/Studio Devil since NAMM. We'll give them a few more days to get settled back in. I'm guessing the box they're showing is prototype, so the name - if it needs to change - should be a moot point. But that would also point to a longer wait time for the box to come available to market.
This one does interest me for a few reasons. Atomic is generally local to me (Boston to CT), and I like to support US businesses (especially small ones) when I can. Atomic has also developed a pretty good reputation as a high quality, mid-priced multi-fx modeler. I also really think their CLR cabinets are top notch value vs. performance (got 4 of 'em, 2 passive, 2 powered...LOVE them). Of course, first and foremost, I think they've got a really nice feature set going for bass.
So I'm thinking if anyone can get bass amp/cab modeling right, and provide it in a small package that's not too pricey, this would be it. IR loading is key for cab tone variation.

Still, Marc talks about some of the features and hints at an early-Q2 release. Sounds like all the editing support will be there, so, this could be the one. I can't wait to hear some demos...![]()
Nice little video blurb there. Better to hear it in action, but excited to hear the more in-depth descriptions. Ability to use the computer editor to load 3 different amp models. I hadn't seen that feature mentioned before. Other than the SVT , I'll be really curious to see what other amp models are being offered. So far, looks good.

This box is lookin' super cool, might be a good match for the Line 6 HXFX.
I'd like to load the cab IR's in/from the HXFX so hopefully they'll be able to
be turned off on the box.

Any idea if Atomic or Studio Devil has a presence on TalkBass? With this piece of gear they really should.
Not sure, my friend. Honestly, you, Selta, and Adamixoye are the guys I look to for info on digital modeling. I figured if anyone would know, you guys would...![]()
I know that they're a really small operation, probably strapped for time and resources, wearing multiple hats, as most small businesses are. It's hard to be patient, waiting so long for them to throw in with a bass product.
I recently saw @Selta posting on the Fractal forum...a couple things added for the bass on a recent firmware update - a re-vamped SVT amp model and a Portaflex for the AxeFxIII. This is good news, but not sure yet if I'm ready to drop large coin just to have a couple new items. So many other good options at a fraction of the cost.

Just some photochoppin'That's pretty cool. How'd you do that?
Which ones are you thinking? I would hope for an orange, an acoustic, a gk or swr but that may be wishful thinking. Either way I'm really warming up to this product. The only thing I don't like is the physical looks. It just looks a little boring to me, but that's easy to get overJust some photochoppin'
I also hope they'll have more/different amps than just Ampeg
to choose from.

from Studio Devil's Facebook page...and it's ABOUT TIME! (yay)
"Ever wondered what Virtual Bass Amp with some extra dynamics and EQ processing, a selectable drive effect, and an impulse modeler would be like, all packed into a portable stomp box? Well, this is it...
Introducing Bass Box, coming soon from Atomic Amps...and we are bringing units to the NAMM show this week. Going to be a fun time showing it to people and getting some excitement over one of our best selling bass amp modeling effects algorithms, and much more, all inside the box!
If you are going to NAMM, stop by Booth #3749 and check it out!"
