Atomic Amplifire Bass Box at NAMM

I gave up in June after I'd hit them up 2x and got almost nothing. One time I got the canned reply "no updates yet, stay tuned". The second time I tried, a few weeks later, I got Genesis'd-No Reply At All...:laugh::roflmao::laugh::roflmao:

It's too bad, I was looking forward to it. I'da stuck around if Atomic had tossed out a few updates, teasers, something, ANYTHING. I'm @$$ deep into a Kemper AND an HX Stomp and I'm going to buy another MacBook(Air) and try out Neural DSP Parallax. I have zero interest in this now. I'm still on the wait list, so if I hear anything, I'll let you guys know.

Man, at this point, who cares?! They lost me when they stopped responding in Jul/Aug/Sept. I get having development or manufacturing problems, but keep your buying public informed. I was super hyped for this, but when I asked a question and got ZERO response, I was done.

If you're still interested in this piece of vaporware, I wish you the best of luck, my friend. ;):thumbsup:

Yeah, I don't blame ya'. There's nothing in that post that would even remotely give me any hope of seeing this thing anytime soon. Hell, even if it does miraculously show up this year, I'm not interested.

It's odd that I'll probably spend $1,600 on a Neural DSP Quad Cortex at the end of this year, because it won't be available until then, but I wouldn't spend $300 on this if it showed up tomorrow.

I am an odd human...LOL!

It's very very good sounding! I wouldn't have guessed it's a modeler just by hearing it. It has a lot of options for amp and can sims and routing those the different outputs. I wasn't allowed to share anything until release day, then the quarantine happened, and I haven't been doing much with any of my gear since. Im hoping to get some IG clips of some stuff soon!

Currently, according to the owner's manual: "AMP - For each of the three selections you can choose between SOLID STATE, TUBE AMP, SVT, DI or NONE. Selecting DI still adds some analog flavor to the signal, while selecting NONE adds nothing and completely bypasses the AMP section."

This is a great question. I know that the guitar version - the "Ampli-fire Box" has some 20+ various amp/cab models available (in addition to noise gate, echo and reverb) in memory. Not sure if there's something fundamentally different in terms of modeling/design architecture that prevents additional models from being added to the BassBox, but that would be great to see in a future firmware update. Which bass amps would you want to see? Me, I'll take GK, SWR and Acoustic at the top of my list.

Personally, I'm an SVT fan out of the gate, so this already had my attention.

It has a PC/Mac utility software where you can change out what the defaults are. It comes with a handful of them, but if I am remembering correctly you can add your own on there as well.

This is one thing that seems a little bit unclear to me. The Cabinets are certainly IR based, and you can load in 3rd party cabinet IRs. Cabinet IRs aren't amps, though. they are digital representations of ONLY the cabinet tone.

It seems that the EQ portion of the preamp is selectable and thus discrete from the AMP selected. So I'm now curious as to what, exactly, is going on with the AMP portion of the modeling. Is it modeling the power (output) stage type described (solid state, tube amp, SVT) since there are no parameters for the Amp model selected?

Awesome video! As always.

Can one of the outputs be programmed to send a hotter signal for a power amp? Just downloaded the editor, but of course, without a pedal plugged in, you cant see the options.
