I don't know what skramz is, but I've listened to enough heavy music to know a real scream when i hear one.
Haha, this has nothing to do with "heavy music". This is commercial rap with dance beats and some screaming occasionally thrown in.

Skramz is the newfangled term for 90s screamo.
I consider it a bad thing because it's so so so so so STUPID. The fact that people think that is cool and ejoyable proves the dumbing down of the world. IMO.
Would it be unfair to say that you enjoy laughing at them but object to people enjoying laughing with them?

Any settings you could recommend? :smug:

A friend of mine sent me a link for an Attack Attack song earlier this week, asking if I've ever heard of crabcore. After watching it, one of the first things I thought was that this style of posturing may have been pioneered by none other than Robert Trujillo

e.g. 1:45 here-

Too bad his bandmates don't play along...:hiding:

I think Trujillo is more of a "playing-while-taking-a-dump"-core kinda move...

someone said earlier that bands like the beatles or the stones or the who and jimi hendrix were considered freaks when they first became popular but look at them now and they infulenced how music sounds and how it is played (i.e stage presence). im 17 now and if in 40 years when im 57 if young bassists are acting like crabs on speed and screaming like a p---ed off house wifes then i will quit music, i will never play outside of my house if that day comes, because at that point music to me would be dead

Don't worry. I will one-up them.

if your aim is to become more ridiculed than this band then more power to you sir.

each to their own but brokencyde and attack attack just make me die inside a little,...

only positive I see with goatbomb is that they have interesting video's as opposed to the 'we just commercialised everything we could' video's of brokencyde and attack attack

edit: I won't post it or link it as it contains swear words, but the wikipedia entry on brokencyde under reception is pretty much my thinking on it all...

"This 'Albucrazy'-based band has done for MySpace emo what some think Soulja Boy did for hip-hop: turn their career into a kind of macro-performance art that exists so far beyond the tropes of irony and sincerity that to ask 'are they kidding?' is like trying to peel an onion to get to a perceived central core that, in the end, does not exist and renders all attempts to reassemble the pieces futile."

quoted from this page (seems about right)
"Attack Attack! sold 3,336 copies of Someday Came Suddenly its first week."

All I can say is, welcome to the machine. None of you can tell me you are a bit shocked, suprised, whatever. Anyone who has done any amount of time in the music biz knows how it works. These kids will more than likely own houses the size of small towns any day now.
Do I agree with it? Nah, but who would listen?
;)
