No. The 2x12 will have a different sound goal from the TC1x12 (from what I've gathered here), but there will be a Thunderchild-like 1x15.
No idea when.

Thanks! Per Jimmy's post, the 212 uses the deeper voiced 3012LF 'stock' drivers. That should kill also, and should be deeper and wider and smoother than the TC, which is punchy as heck and still big down low.

Halfway in-between with be the TC115, which will have a custom 4ohm version of the 3015LF, and should be a 'louder' TC112. I have one on preorder:D

The TC112 packs quite a wallup though, and I've done some stupid loud gigs with it. Wonderful cab!

I will have two. Tuki faked me out by shipping the cover so fast, my second Thunderchild won't arrive for weeks :) Most likely they'll be used in separate locations, although I am planning to master/slave my Streamliner 900 and Shuttle 9 into the two cabs - kinda making my own ShuttleMax 18 :smug: just for kicks.

I'm so happy with my Thunderchild cab. :hyper:

I've been playing bass guitar on some pickup bar cover gigs where I use a Walkabout head with this cab. I was wondering if I was loud enough for the mix because I could hear myself but not great. Then I had a friend play my bass and I heard the band out front and the bass sound was KILLING! It was the clearest instrument in the band. It is true that this cab will take more power than the Mesa can dish out so I'm looking forward to trying out a Genz-Benz Streamliner head in the future. But if you own a Walkabout head this cab makes for a great pairing.

For upright I pair the TC with a AI Focus amp and that has been a pleasure as well.

You might want to try your Focus using a Sansamp Paradriver or Bassdriver, going into the effects loop. They make a great preamp with the power of the Focus. Maybe more usefull than the Streamliner. However, the Streamliner is quite yummy.

Thank you, hensonbass. I had to show that to my wife.

I try not to indulge in "basking" every time someone says something positive about my little cab, but dangit I'm pretty proud of that one. My aspiration is to make a difference in the sound quality of amplified instruments in small to medium venues, so reading that is very rewarding to me. Thanks for taking the time to post it.

And thanks to those of you who've posted numerous thumbs-ups without getting a reply; I appreciate your encouraging words very much but again don't want to over-indulge in "basking".

I have tried that with my VT Bass pedal and it works well- BUT, the Walkabout head has got that 'magic booty' presence that I can't get with the AI. I'm interested to hear the latest Genz Benz offerings with that 3D imaging power amp proprietary technology. Or Mesa could get off their duffs and make a Walkabout head with double or triple the power!:rolleyes:

Thank you Duke for enabling bass players to precisely hear our instruments without throwing out our backs!:D

Seriously, no other musician in the band and in the club could believe how much sound was coming out of that little cab. The guitarists' amps were twice as big. One guy thought it was a cajon from the side.:p

When and what is the next offering Duke? I wanna get in line!

+1 I've played some surprisingly large and loud gigs with wonderful results with this cab and my F500.

And, FYI, while Duke is coming out with a 212 that should sound quite different from the TC112 (deeper, smoother, and I assume quite a bit larger... those stock 3012LF's take a relatively large box), he is developing that TC115, which 'should' be a louder, more forceful TC112 with at least a somewhat similar profile (he is using a custom OEM 4ohm 3015LF driver that I assume would be similar in voicing to his OEM 4ohm 3012LF).

I already have a preorder in:bassist: I would guess the TC115 (or whatever it will eventually be called) would handle any gig that would normally be covered by a 212 or 410.
