AudioKinesis Cabs Part VI...

One of the cabs will fit in the trunk, but I could not get the lid down to latch.

Dangit!

The metal corners were an attempt to skinny-up the cab as much as possible, as the ridged plastic corners stick out a bit. Figured I'd take my best shot at getting them to fit in the trunk. Bummer.

Nice pics, nice car, nice cab. . . Not so nice "spare" tire? Maybe gain a little space by losing the spare, which if the space saver variety, is notorious for being flat when needed, anyway. Replace spare with electric compressor/tire repair kit (Slime), and road service option in auto insurance. Many cars these days do not even come with a spare (I have one).

The spare tire goes under the car, not in the trunk..

I think your choice of vehicle has proven you wrong... :smug:

Um, this isn't a thread about "Big Bottom Cabinets".. or otherwise know as "BBC"!

Well I will say this, if I had been back to playing bass when I bought this car.. I probably wouldn't have bought it.. but I wasn't. The great thing about the advancements in equipment is that for most of us players, you don't need to be driving a whale in order have a fantastic sound at the gig!

I took the one cab with me to a local mom and pop music store.. tried the GK MB 500 amp through it.. sounded good.. The guys at the store thought it sounded really good too! I was going to also try a MB 800 Fusion amp, but the amp would not produce any sound.. we tried everything short of opening it up.. they didn't want to do that. So I have no idea as to how much better it would have sound with that amp.. All the testing that I did do was with the port plug removed. I really liked the tone with it out of the cab. I guess I am not much for the sealed sound except from seals! Did this testing seal the deal for me with the cab.. umm yes it did help.. but now I will have to see what the two of them would sound like..
