I am not really sure what else to say. I'm always impressed with my TC118 when I am pumping through it, no matter what instrument. I'm pretty sure people are sick of my posts about it by now

Hah. Well, right now for tonight, I'll just leave you all with this...
My TC118 is gigged at least once a month. At rehearsal though, I typically use whatever the studio has on tap - usually some 6x10 or 8x10 cab.
For awhile, I took my TC118. Why? Because it just sounds that much better and was an integral part of "my tone"! Well, I got lazy over the past few weeks... work has been running me down a tad, and it's just easier to use what's on hand, right?
Well, at the most recent rehearsal, my guitarist and my drummer practically begged me to start bringing the TC118 back. Now, being that we're all musicians, and have a great ear for tone, it didn't surprise me too much that they cared and noticed (it's pretty night and day difference, to be honest). I was finishing setting up when the owner of the studio came in to ask me about my setup (he's asked me a couple of times about it in the past, but more on my Axe-Fx). He looked at me and said I need to start bringing the TC118 back, as it just sounds better.
The guitarist and drummer wanted it back because it actually dices through the mix better than the 6x10 and 8x10 from where they stand, and sounds "clearer" to their ears. I agree in full of course, it's just never been my experience to have a single piece of equipment be so demanding of attention. In fact, most of the time as long as I'm mostly audible, that's good enough. That is no longer the case, though.
So, thanks Duke! I have to carry more gear to rehearsals now. Not that it's really much to carry... as we all know, these things are super portable. I single hand my TC118 in one hand
Next big gig where the TC118 will be used is 5 Mar 2016. I'll definitely let everyone know how it goes. It's a new venue with a veteran soundguy that I've worked with in the past. I'm kind of eager to see what he thinks

I haven't yet played a H1855 extensively, though I'd like to. From what I understand, it's more "musical" or slightly more "colorful" of a cab than the TC series, for more of a traditional bass cab sound (I think - someone who really knows will correct me if I'm wrong again)
That should be plenty, especially considering that you seem to have reasonable stage volume
It seems like you may be describing the Fletcher–Munson effect more than anything. For me, to my ears, even at home, late night volume levels the TC series has plenty of lows - I imagine the Hathors are similar in that regard.

I have both cabs you are talking about.Comp TC212 and H1855 and while both are great cabs like I wrote in a earlier post I feel the H1855 is my favorite to date.There are some subtle differences.The TC 212 is a more so HiFi tone to it being it having a horn driver and may have a little more sheen to the top end but the H1855 sounds great and do not miss the ultra high at all with it.It sounds a little more natural to me with the paper cones of the Mid Hi drivers.While the H1855 had the Mid grind switch you can use by switching it off it can get you closer to the sound of the TC cabs.I think this makes the H1855 a more versatile cab as least for me.Yes it will perform just great with a 500 watt amp.I use mine with a Markbass F500 and sounds great!In my opinion the H1855 is the best of Dukes line for the Rock,Blues,R&B and just about any other style bassist.The 18 Duke uses is also not your typical 18 in that its response is quick like a 12 and not like the old day slow responding 18,s of the past plus its total weight is only 50 pounds and potentially a 4-10, 8-10 killer.
