AudioKinesis Cabs Part VI...

Honestly I expect the 1505 to be surprisingly close to the 1855 in terms of output and it'll be substantially smaller and lighter.

The math supports this, though I haven't actually heard the two side-by-side. The woofer in the 1505 is only rated at 450 watts (it's a Kappalite variant), but its efficiency is pretty high (higher than the 3015 non-LF).

Assuming the Hathor 1505 has enough excursion that it's not going to fart out, theoretically it's within about 1 dB of the 1855 as far as max SPL goes. That being said, the 1855 (and its upcoming revision) will go deeper and hit harder, and probably never approach fartout unless you tune really low or do something to boost the very bottom end aggressively.

I can't say enough good about the TC112v3. I haven't gigged with it, but it pairs incredibly well with my Aguilar TH500 at home. It's definitely a hi-fi cab, but it has soul. It is NOT clinical sounding at all. I haven't pushed it volume-wise, but I have no doubt it will be perfectly sufficient for my needs. I just don't see myself ever needing a 212 with this around. That said, a second one (or a 1203 for a different flavor) down the road is likely.

Now... does anyone have a badge they can easily fab up that I can put on mine? I'd sure like to be able catch people's eye and get a chance to spread the Gospel of Duke.

Hang tough for a little longer, I'm getting quotes so it won't be too much longer.

In for one when you get them, Duke. Just let me know where to send the monies :D

Unless the costs are really a burden on this end, they will be free to customers who already have my cabs.

Any fellow AKers play a Rob Allen MB2? I've been thinking about my needs, time, resources, etc. While I'd love to be able to spend more time to get truly competent on the upright, I don't know if that's a realistic goal for the next ten years (or more). The kidlet won't turn two until April, so that's a lot of very important years where he needs my focus. So, with that in mind, I'm thinking about the Rob Allen MB2 fretless instead. No, it won't really sound like an upright, and I certainly can't bow one, but it would give me some of that tonality and I'm already able to acquit myself pretty well on fretless BG.

So, anyone here using one with their AK cab?

I have a Mouse and a Deep 4. They sound great with my TC115-8.
