I definitely like the Mouse vs the Deep, so I'll just have to decide between the Mouse and the MB2.

I played my Deep 5 on a half dozen tunes with a Steely Dan tribute band Saturday night. A couple of years back I used one with a funk band.

It's not just for straight jazz. Depends on how you eq and play it. The deep has a bit different feel than the MB-2. The Mouse is a very different beast, mostly due to the 30" scale. That can throw some people off (it did when I tried to swap between it and 34" scale bass on the same set), and it tends to have a much more blooming sound. But they are very cool instruments - I had both fretted and fretless variants for awhile.

I'm giving that some thought, but I'm a shallow bastid and prefer the shape of the MB2 to the single cut of the Deep. Terrible, I know... The other issue is cost. The Deep approaches the cost of the upright I was considering (Upton Bohemian Hybrid).

I love bloom, though it can be overdone. From what I'm hearing the Deep might be too much of a good thing for my tastes. I like the woody nature of the Mouse recordings I've found so far.

Yes indeed. That was one of the first vids I saw when I started researching RA's basses.

They all sound much better once the Labella tapewounds break in. I find the tapewounds to be a little bright at first, but mellow out nicely. The AK cabs are just perfect for these basses.

I would love to see a 115 with deep lows, yet tight. Like a Bagend with some extended lows... that could extend up to maybe 7k or so... and be able to displace some air... and have good mids... Not too hifi though

My Bag End S15X-B fills that bill. I run this with an S-15-B (no compression horn) and I can dust away every other cab systems I've had shootouts with. Tight, puncy full spectrum sound for Jazz, Funk, old school and everything in between.

Cool! I hope they have some simple adhesive backing or similar. I'm not anxious to take a screwdriver to your work, unless it's non-destructive in nature

Current plan calls for the logo to have a sticky foam backing that is specifically made to go on rough surfaces.
