I've shipped a couple of Changeling 112's as well as the first Changeling 112T... the "T" is for "Tall" (22", same as the Thunderchild). If I make a REALLY tall version, maybe I should call it the TAF??

The size of the footprint is very slightly different... the TC112v1's cabinet is one-half inch deeper.

In every other way it should work fine. I'm hoping to have a Changeling cab on hand the next time we do a Dallas area GTG, so you can try the combination then.

Yeah. You are. ;) Already got all of that worked out, and a 2 ohm capable head.

If I were to place an order with Duke, it'd likely be for a 4 ohm cab.. or I'd be looking at selling my 4 ohm TC here on TB and moving to 8 ohm cabs. I think bringing an 8 ohm cab is a good move on Duke's part for general compatibility with rigs that'll be there.

I hadn't actually planned on that, but no reason why it can't be done. Worst case scenario, might have to make the recess for the handle on top a little bit narrower, like a half-inch or so, because of the depth required for the magnet on the 5" mids.

Me. I've played every gig since June 1st with only the Changeling 112 cab (all ports open to best cover low B), switches in various positions depending on room and drummer position), Lakland 5er (mostly 55-02 though also 55-60 and 55-AJ), AI Focus head.

And I'm one happy camper. Great for my gigs in three diff bands.

Tomorrow's gig is in a notoriously loud room, so I'll break out my trusty Greenboy F112. A couple of outdoor shows coming up where it'll be both cabs in parallel. Great to have useful options.

Thank you Ken, very glad to hear the Changeling 112 and its assortment of switches have proved to be useful.

Just joined the club with a gently used Hathor 183333 prototype. Unfortunately can't go up in volume to not bother others but with a Nanomark (300w at 4ohm) it sounds great.
Still no chance to play thru it with the big bass but will do it soon.
Have to admit I'm not a fan of the circular grill (visually, not functionally) but can't find a single real flaw on the cab: sound, finish, construction etc. are all top notch.
The 3"s really project nicely everywhere. I'm actually in love with them, I think they could become my "go-to" solution for 2ways cabs. I've got this 'cause should be able to go down to 26hz (-8db, if I remember correctly) but the whole voice of the cab is nice, not just the low end.

Thank you Triad!! Glad the cab made it across the ocean safely, and very glad you like it.

But I'll probably never win any prizes for the aesthetics of my grills! Too bad I didn't use a little bit lighter shade, might have matched your Smurf bass. Now that Big Bass of yours - THAT is a piece of art. Wow. It sounds great just to look at!! I guess that's what happens when an Italian decides to be a luthier.

Just remember that when you EQ the cab to bring up that bottom end, you gotta protect the woofer from over-excursion with a highpass filter, despite its rather long x-max.
