My plan is to pair the Changeling with the H1203 for louder gigs. I'm curious (as is Steubig) about the taller cab alone and low end performance. While I sold the D800+, I still have my D800 and now a Forte so I have some different voices to work with. I also had an MAS109 so have some memory of that as well.

My current "plan" is to do pretty much this same thing. Either a Hathor and a Changeling or 2 Hathors (1203) with a Mesa D800 (or 800+). I am also going to check out a Forte though. Let me know what you think of the D800 vs Forte with these cabs. And keep us posted about the Changeling vs. the Hathor in a live setting. Thanks!

Not sure if Nostatic still has this combination (someone else mentioned it again recently), that being a Hathor 1203 / a ThunderChild 112.
For the longest time I lusted for a ThunderChild 212 & later a Hathor 212.
Normally I prefer a one cab solution, but that combination makes a lot of sense.
Duke, how would a Hathor 1203 work on top a ThunderChild 212?
I realize the amp would need to be 2.33 Ohm happy to work - I'm thinking of a few that are.

I use a hathor 1203 & TC112. It's a great combo if I use one cab only I use the hathor as it fits best in my cover band. I think I'd rather one more cab than a 2 x 12.

I think they paired fine when I had them, I just am not crazy about the horn when compared to the 3" paper cone. I did have a pair of H1203s and they would peel paint of the walls, but the pair didn't reach a lot lower than a single unit.

Both the Mesa D800/+ and Forte will do 2 ohm loads. An H1203 and a TC212 would be a lot of booty, but I think the TC would get most of the watts so not sure it would make a huge difference as the 212 is pretty big sounding on its own.

Should work just fine... of course you'll want to stack them with all cabs vertical, to avoid the aesthetic blight of lateral overhang...

I think if I set the HF Driver on the 212 for the early roll off & the 1203 for bright & growly I'm hoping they'd both be heard in the mix.

My stack of 1203s just cut through like butter with heft in my jazz ensemble. I stopped using the house rig and brought my own - I was sick of the mud. Drummer was amazed. Said a blanket came off of my bass. Real deal stuff are these cabs.
