See the fretless P-bass in my avatar photo? Squier Affinity body with a Mighty Mite neck, both used. Upgraded the pickups and pots, but played it without those upgrades for a good while and got lots of compliments on the sound. I have and have played "nicer" instruments (haven't owned any Foderas or Sadowskys, though), but I still dig that little P-bass.

I feel a little better; thanks for that. Sounds like a cool instrument.

I used to play with a session guitar player in Minneapolis. he played a Squire strat.. he was one of the best sounding and playing guitarists around.. never worry about what it says on the headstock.

Isn't this supposed to be kind of a high-end thread? Like, I'm probably the only guy playing a Squire Affinity P through an AK cab? This thread is making me feel insecure now; staking out the lowbrow end of the spectrum is part of my identity, man!

So I spent some time AB'ing the thunderchild vs' Hathor that I have this morning. Both these cabs are really so great for slightly different purposes and tones. I really love the thunderchild for perfectly representing whatever you put in. Still the ultimate upright cab imo. It also has a smoothness and sweetness to the highs on electric bass that you don't normally hear, and I think it's bottom end is touch fuller than the hathor. Kinda think of that John Pattitucci tone that has really sweet ringing treble that is never harsh. Hathor is more aggressive and upper mid forward. But not drastically so, not like G and K gear for example. I can't say which is my favorite for electric bass, as it's like trying to say which is better, a Precision or Jazz-just different flavors of awesome. TC112 for upright though, where it's freakin magical.

It has all the plugs and looks to be in good shape.

The most likely possibility is that they have no idea what they have there and think it's a one off experimental home build or something. The other less likely explanation is that it may not be in as good a shape as the pictures suggest. One thing that's for sure is that GC in general is not known for top quality bargains like that!!
