AK 1203s sound great with the Quilter BB800 also...plus I’m using some tube pre pedals as well. 100% satisfied here!

I tried the Forte a while back and found it to be an excellent head that offered a very transparent tone/voicing. I especially liked how the EQ and tone shaping features allowed for subtle and surgically precise adjustments. For my purposes I like the Mesa D-800 a little better, but the Forte was nothing short of impressive.
I actually have the Forte for sale. Totally agree with your comments, it is a bit more transparent than the Mesa. For whatever reason I find that my Smith pairs better with the Mesa given my technique (which tends toward a thinner tone - too many years as a finger style guitarist).

I was fairly rushed on Saturday with set up as I was doing sound and stage for the gig as well, so I didn’t get a “live” pic, but this was my set up for the gig. Pretty happy camper too.

Heads up to those in the Seattle area: this Sunday (Sept. 9) is the date for this year's Emerald City BassCon. As usual, there will be at least a few of Duke's cabs on hand. This is kind of where it all started for Duke's bass cab business, and it's always cool to share the love with those who haven't yet encountered one in the flesh. I'll be there along with the usual suspects, hope to see some of you there.
Nice review Tom. Now demand for Duke's great cabs could skyrocket.
