My last email from him was on 4/07. Not ready to take new orders yet at that time, but he was at least hinting about some new things to come.

In other news, I recently stumbled upon a guy in Portland who makes amp faceplates, does pedal graphics printing, laser and CNC work, etc. The first UV print job he did for me was killer and I'm going to explore doing a logo badge for the new sheriff in town. It could be plastic, metal, or wood, and if others dug it and wanted to order direct from him that would be fine. I don't want to step on Duke's toes or make any money off this, but I've always felt that it would be nice to at least have an option for something, anything. Thoughts?

Back several thousand posts ago there was talk of, or a design for, an "AK" logo. It was small and unobtrusive and could be placed out of the way in a corner of the cab. I always thought that was kinda cool.

I made a few different ones with my home printer and some plastic lamination film and had my favorite of those on my TC112AF cab for quite a few years. I'm thinking maybe 2" x 1" or something along those lines. The guy in Portland is talented and I want to see what he thinks would be cool. It'll be small and unobtrusive for sure, probably just some variation on the AK logo like so:

And of course if Duke objects in any way I'll just do one for myself and drop even talking about it.

Yep, but I'd be perfectly happy to see Duke make a cut and the guy in Portland (Amplifyfun) get more work so he can keep his prices low and do lots of cool stuff for me eventually. If "unobtrusive" goes out the window we could go with something like the "chameleon" finish that Gorva offers on their pedals, but I will refrain from posting yet another set of pics of that here, as I've already spammed TB plenty enough in the last few days.

Those are the bomb Passinwind! My late father in law was a graphic designer and teacher at Washington University here in St. Louis. He would have dug that logo. Logo's were his forte.

That's straight up Duke's logo, I just lifted it from one of his web pages. I think a laser etched wooden one might be way cool, for starters. I've been messing with amp faceplates done that way lately and there are a bunch of cool options with that technology.

Did an acoustic instruments gig last weekend. The TC112AF plays great with my old Takamine Jasmine. My band mates call my cab “The Cube”

Aside from your rig, I really like that the "heater" has its own mic, music stand, and monitor !

Ha! Good eye. Tell me I’m not the only one that brings a full size propane heater for outdoor gigs…

Two days before the hourly forecast said 39 F at 9pm. It wasn’t actually quite that cold but it did start raining around 10pm and load out was wet! The venue provided the heater and it was much appreciated.

I've been getting a lot of compliments lately, running a little 24" scale Guild Jumbo Junior bass into my first-gen TC112AF. Bronze-wound nylon-core La Bella CB40 strings.

It's working even better since I started bypassing the preamp on my G-K MB Fusion 500 head, feeding a Barber Linden Compact preamp straight into the Fusion's effects return.

Two days before the hourly forecast said 39 F at 9pm. It wasn’t actually quite that cold but it did start raining around 10pm and load out was wet! The venue provided the heater and it was much appreciated.

Plenty of unseasonably cool weather in my part of Washington this spring too. My first scheduled outdoor gig is still a month out and that suits me fine.
