I can see that, given the unusual proportions of the Wide. Doesn't look like anything else on the market.

I have one friend who thought my TC112 was a cheap Chinese PA cab, but that impression only lasted about 5 seconds once I powered it up.

Everyone else has reacted very positively to the looks of the cab. They're mystified because it doesn't look like a typical bass box, but they recognize it as a high-end piece from the first glance. I don't know what drives that impression, other than the expensive-looking size of the horn, the finish, or perhaps the way Duke treated the recesses for the handle and the controls.

I do agree that the recessed grille is a visual improvement, but I don't really give a shoot once that puppy is pumping!

+1 in that the 'wide' is kind of the ugly stepchild of the Thunderchild family IMO. Proportions make it look very strange to me (of course, who cares, as you point out).

I've gotten nothing but compliments from other players on the looks of my Duke made TC112 and my Arnopol made Composite TC115. Zero issue for me. The biggest non-tone comment I get is the wonderful, simple ingenious routed-in top handle on my TC112. One of those things that people see and say 'why doesn't every 112 cab have that?' Nothing worse than a micro head that doesn't sit flat on the top of a 112 IMO!.

I think Duke's original grill looks great.

Hey hey hey. I love my wide body TC15AF Looks beautiful. Some are just wider than others.

I've totally quit looking at it or paying attention to my TC115 wide. I admit I now take it totally for granted in both appearance and sound and I mean that in the nicest way possible. It's only when things don't sound good that I get frustrated. This cab is a frustration killer.

P.S. Note that the Bergantino is now gone from my signature. 'Nuff said.

I have a AE410 that I may just sell to get a TC12AF... Hope they re in wide body to.

Haven't posted a picture in a long while. Here is my main gigging rig. The amazing Arnopol build of the TC115 Compact, the Aguilar TH500, and the Nordy ash/maple VP5.

The ENTIRE rig (head, cab, covers, bag, cables) is about 39 pounds:bassist:, and it literally will cover any gig I do. BIG low end of course, but the Aguilar provides a bit of warmth and 'midrange complexity' to make that cab very 'P friendly'. Amazing rig in general, but for its size, it is really amazing. Want it crisp and modern... substitute a GK, Puma or whatever (in my case, the Markbass F500) for the Aguilar, and there you go!

Starting EQ with the P.... I engage the drive control (which is kind of like a variable hi pass/lo pass 'old school knob' )at about 9 o'clock to soften the top end and tighten the deep bass, then boost the midrange in the 600hz area a bit to add some grit and growl. Bass boost or cut depending on the room. Works very nicely!
