Avatar Owner's Club - part 3

Just picked this bad boy up today from GC. A 410 neo!! I was only going in to try out one of those short scale Jag basses, but saw this was steal at only $200. I was actually looking to buy a 210 neo from the site soon, so I'm glad I went to GC today!!!

I got 2 of those new with a Carvin BX1500, had to upgrade from my GK 700RBII and 2x10, 1x15 setup, sounded good but it wouldn't get the stage volume I needed. Pix soon.
I have 2 B212's. the 412 wasn't available at the time. I'm very happy with the 12's being vertical, it's a monster. Ashdown ABM on top.

Same here. A B212 stack under a 700 watt PV Lead Sled. Warm, round, punchy, and able to kill small farm animals via sound pressure levels.
Totally overkill ... but more fun than people should be allowed.
Interesting that you guys mentioned having two B212's. I've been debating about selling my B212 blonde neo to get a second B210 and stack vertically for a while now, but have just recently been thinking about doing the opposite... selling the B210 and getting a second B212 instead.

I've been considering a ceramic magnet Avatar 212 cab. I've been researching the GK Neo 212-II and GB NX2 212T on the lower price end. The Xson 212CF and Berg CN212 on the upper price end.
Anyone own/owned a regular Avatar 212 and a Neo 212 that can speak of tone differences? If any?
I own a GB NeoX 212T and a couple other neo loaded cabs, 210's, 112's 115's and seems cab makers and players are shooting for the older "ceramic cab tone". Or what tone they felt they had with older ceramics.
And I get no PA support in a couple bands. You guys wanting 2x212's really need that? Or just want that?
I've done outdoor, no PA gigs with a single NeoX 212T, Streamliner 900 and a P5. Hoping a single Avatar 212 could do that for me. Thanks for any details. BTW, I owned older B210/B212 stack a few years back.

For me, it's a little bit of both. lol I've been finding that one 2x12 works pretty good for most stuff, but it would be nice to have additional headroom for gigs with my gospel band. I never know what the venue is going to be like, what the sound system will be (if any) or how we're going to be set up. Often all the details I get are "Be [here] at [time]." Yesterday was a prime example... we played in a 320 seat boomy/echoy/reverby/muddy high school auditorium and I was competing with an overly boomy house PA (only two medium-ish top cabs mounted on the walls and FOUR 2x18 SUBS, with a sound kid who liked to use them...!
), and only had my single 2x12 with me. The leader for the band also insists on using backing tracks with huge 808 bass hits in some of the tracks and a mentality of "if it's not loud, it's not a show." 
I don't really want to buy another cab for the gig, but even my big rig (my Avatar B210/B212 stack) doesn't cut it sometimes. Never been in that situation of not having enough juice until now.
And yeah, I partially want a second B212 because of the badass look. lol

No worries. I'm still kinda debating, but leaning towards selling the B210. Just not 100% sure what I want to do yet. I like having the cabs with two different driver sizes, but a pair of 2x12's..........

Hey guys, lookin to join soon! I'm deciding between a 4x10 or a 2x12 and leaning toward the 10s. We play reggae-dance-heavy music that needs tons of bottom end. I A/B'd a 410 and 212 at guitar center for a half hour and the 410 was louder with more bottom, while the 212 was midrange-forward and less powerful. Would you say the same is true for the avatar cabs?? I really don't need growly midrange, need big huge bottom!
A. how did you find Avatars at GC? Wish I was that lucky here
B. I have the 4x10 which I use for metal, jazz band,pit orchestra, so it gets me through quite a few styles, and volume level demands. I love it!
Ah they weren't avatars, they were mesas...that's why I'm wondering if the avatars have the same sonic qualities between the two speaker sizes as I found with the mesas...

The Avatar B212 ceramics with the Delta LF are not middy cabs, to my ears. Not scooped, either, just a very nice round bottom that stays clear and a sweet top end that stands out without harshness. I was able to run back and forth between an Eden 410 XLT and an Avatar B212 Delta for a while, and I thought the Avatar was every bit as punchy as the Eden but with a 'rounder' very warm low end with no mud. The tones I got were very, very punchy with every head I tried with my pair of B212s, but not really mid focused, imo.
I agree the neo 212 is amazing. Everything I wanted from my ne210 and more plus at 4 ohms the amp is wide open. Very round, full sounding and all my strings ring through quite evenly.
