I have a question for my fellow Avatarists. I have A B212, a B410, and recently purchased a SB112 (8ohms). I am running then with a GB Shuttle 6.0. My poblem is that I bought the SB112 to use as a standalone in smaller venues (churches mainly). How ever, I don't like the tone or lack of volume. I am thinking of returning it and getting a 4 ohm B210.
Does anyone have experience with that cab as a standalone unit? Howis it?

How about giving your single 8 ohm b212 a try? You'll be getting less wattage from the Shuttle, but I don't think you'll have a problem being heard. I don't know the official specs on the Shuttle, but I'm assuming it'll run around 300 watts. I've had to run my backup 300w GK 800RB into a single 4 ohm B212 and never had a problem in the volume dept. Just a thought.
I have tried the SB112. I really don't like the tone, very bottome heavy, no mids, and I need more volume. I keep clipping the amp.

I was a dyed in the wool SWR Cab guy for years. My old 8x8 and 212 were great but stacked they were a little tippy. This time around I had to pinch a few pennies to get some cabs and these fit the bill handily. I love these things. Light, narrow, stack well, and throw sound like no-ones business. I currently will just be using either/or for gigs. I just sold the Carvin and ordered an Markbass F1. I'm going to a lighter rig and these are light for what they are. I picked up a nice osp 4 space ATA as well. Much improved over the skb behemoth. It sits perfectly on top of the Avatars and is only 14" deep without the lids.

My B212 Neo has beautiful mids. It's an outstanding standalone cab. Portability wise, the cab isn't that much larger than the 210. You could also consider getting a second SB112 as well. I own a pair of them and just like me B212, you can have as much mid presence as you want and minimal amp clipping, depending your gain/volume settings.

Question regarding the 212 vs the 410:
Since Dave uses the same cabinet for the 2x12 and the 4x10, which speaker configuration is best suited for the cabinet size?
edit: Also are there any charts published for the frequency responses, etc on the cabinets?

I have both cabinets. Both configurations seem to fit just fine. They both appear to use the space well.

uno mas pregunta por favor: what've some of you done as far as cabinet modifications? I hear that the Foster horn can be a bit harsh at times. There are a few descriptions online, but I wanna hear from the TB'ers.

I wanted a smaller cabinet to play some of the smaller venues (primarily churches). However, the little 8 ohm, SB112 couldn't hold its own against the Hammond organs and Leslie speaker cabinets.
I was playing through the Shuttle 6.0. So, the more I tried to get more volume, the more the amp clipped. I am hoping that the 4 ohm B210 will fare better.
