awkward situation!

so I should stay with someone who I don't know? I don't know if his family would be cool with a stranger sleeping in their house.

did you get to know any guys from her youth group at camp? I can think of a few families from my youth group that would be willing to put up a mutual friend for a few days; surely there's someone like that at hers.

If I was a parent, I wouldn't let you stay at her house, but I would let you stay at a guy's house from her youth group after talking to the parents, and probably their youth pastor, too.

How did I miss this thread for so long? lol...

On a more serious note, go for it man. You only live once. Have fun, do what kids your age do, and let it be. Whatever happens won't be the end of the world anyway :D

edit: To answer the OP's question, I would most definately let you go. But hey, I'm french so I don't count ;)

Not to get too personal here, but...

I was once a 15-year-old opposed to pre-marital sex and definitely opposed to abortion. I ended up a 17-year-old whose hormones got the best of him one night and a 17-year-old girl I barely knew got pregnant and then had an abortion behind my back without even telling me she was pregnant. As a result, I ended up struggling with severe guilt, depression and alchoholism for years.

I finally saught forgiveness of God, have been faithfully married for almost 10 years, have a beautiful 7-year-old daughter, and now work with my church's youth group, but I would still love to back and redo that one night that messed up my life for a long, long time.

Heed my advice. No matter what her parents or your parents say or how much they trust you. DO NOT DO THIS! Even if everything works out fine this time, it may lead you into more temptation down the line and you may end up doing something you regret.

so in discussing a quasi-similar situation with some other youth workers last night, I brought up this topic, and one of my friends said that you should stay with one of the girls' guy friends. Stay with the boyfriend or one of the other guys from her youth group, and it'll cut way down on the opportunity for "naughty behavior" :ninja:

not to get too preachy (you seem pretty into the whole church thing, though, so I feel I can go here), but the bible calls us to be "above reproach." staying at this girls house, regardless of whether anything happens, leaves you, and her, open to rumors, speculation, and gossip, not to mention temptation. As a Christian, you shouldn't want to open that door. Stay at a guy's house, and you can still hang out with them all day, but then avoid the complications that come with staying at the girl's house. It's win-win.

on another note, how can u be so sure that he isnt open to temptation at another guys house? this kid could be gay, and this is how he can assure us that nothing will happen at the girls house. or he could be bi and have temptations at both the boyfriends house and the girls house.

we are making this entire situation bigger then it is, its just a kid that wants to spend a few nights at a friends place with parental supervision. nothing more

As a parent,, and a Christian, I find that the OP got caught. He was originally asking this question with a "yes" answer expected, so he could probably say,, "see,, everyone else thinks it's okay", but it backfired on him. Other parents, other Christians, other Church Youth workers and even his peers (both Christian and non-Christian) have said resoundingly "Don't Do It"...

but like a typical 15 yr old, because it wasn't what he wanted to hear, explanations and excuses are offered up to hold up 'his' decision.

When asking the advice of peers, be prepared to follow it.., otherwise don't ask.

thats what i was thinking too :)

i will still say, that as a 15 year old, i was felt the same, with the whole, i can do it because i am different from all other kids my age, and i was one to have to learn things for myself (however i didn't do any sex stuff) and i hated when people told me to do something or don't do something...but i will say that i doubt you or any 15 year old is ready for the consequences of this kinda stuff...heck i'm 20 and i still don't think i'm ready for the consequences of sex :)

And as already stated, not wanting a long distance relationship doesn't mean you'll keep your hormones at bay. Who knows, maybe you'll be watching a horror movie in the dark, she'll get scared and cuddle up against you. You'll have your arms around her, she'll look up at you with that look in her eyes, you'll stare directly back into her eyes with that same look...things'll start to get heated up, and the next thing you know you're playing monopoly 'til 3am whilst listening to the Beavis and Butt Head Experience CD. You might even eat some toast, with jam, together. Maybe even have a nice relaxing bath in a tub full of champagne and marshmellows. Oh and there'll probably be sex.

If somehow you get lucky and everyones parents agree to go ahead with this, just make sure to bring a condom and/or condoms.

That is probably the best piece of advice I have ever seen
