It was a different brand but my great grandfather would buy whole chicken in a can occasionally. I can't say I recall how it tasted but I do remember he would make vegetable soup and put a whole canned chicken in it, bones and all. It was like eating fish, watch for bones.You could use that as a side when you serve up one of these.

He also introduced me to eggs and (hog) brains for breakfast. He prefered fresh brains from the butcher shop and would only use canned brains if fresh were not available, but he'd rinse them in cold water to wash off all the milk they were packed in before chopping them up to cook with scrambled eggs.
