Bad luck in the classifieds....again

I'd probably give the guy a reasonable amount of time to respond (because, you know, I understand that people have lives and stuff).

I just read through this whole thing. I don't want to be accusatory, but if I was in the same position I would have at least given the seller until the end of the day. Heck even actual businesses sometimes take up to 24 hours to respond to emails.

I totally get that OP probably felt he was getting burned again, which may have ratcheted up his impatience.

But damn. Go out and get a coffee or take a walk or read a book or something other than ranting here before you've given the matter a proper chance to be resolved one way or another.

AHH I see a "look at me the poor victim" without presenting just how unreasonable your expectations were...

SHAME on you @Dave W for bringing up actual facts, and ruining @4string4ever 's Fantasy Pity Party

And you being a certain amount of shame on yourself for making such infantile characterizations and fanning the flames here. You don't seem to get that a point can be made, a thought expressed, in a mature and civilized manner.

Is it time to have a buyers beware list as a sticky? You guys who've been burned once or multiple times help others from being potential victims.
I've been making my own list of the ones who do this and will avoid both parties not only here but in the past mud slinging and public shaming that's been posted here and previously from other bad transactions. I guess one should go deeper than feedback when deciding to do business or not.

I don't get any joy from complaining, but...

My advice is you stop buying things from the classifieds. I remember your other thread. Once again you got impatient and thought it better to be overly dramatic and air your laundry in public and create a mob rather than actually try to work with the seller.
In your last thread everyone started out on your side, but by the end of it we all realized you were being a bit impatient and unreasonable. I suspect that truth will show itself again.

Oh, the irony. If everyone were mature and civilized, this thread wouldn't exist.

Everyone consider this for a moment...if you were having a face to face conversation with someone, how would you feel if they just walked away from you, leaving the conversation hanging in mid air? I don't think many of you would take it in as smooth a stride as you're pontificating from the comfort of the backseat you're preaching from.

Another spewer and slanter of misinformation.

And you are not approaching this in "a mature and civilized manner". Sometimes problems arise; it's not unreasonable that they take a few days to get resolved. When you escalate it to a public rant and filing a claim within hours, that is not reasonable.

If you post on TB, you are defacto asking for our opinions.
Sorry that we don't all agree with you, but your approach seems very impulsive and reactionary.

Life goes on.

I have no feelings of shame and remorse for pointing to truth, facts, and matters of decorum.
(a little humorous jibe, intended to "lighten" the mood, seems to only have made you more defensive)

You make good points, and honestly they are better recieved when expressed in the objective manner that you express them. I respect that and appreciate it.

DUDE it's not the same thing!

We weren't having a face to face conversation. That's the beauty of email/text/etc. you can have a conversation when you're able to have it.

In this case, what was I supposed to do? Wait for your response and finish the whole thing right then and there and be late to work?

I wasn't trying to deceive you, I just simply had to go to work. That's really as simple as it gets.

I pride myself in being an honest and upfront guy when it comes to any transactions here or elsewhere. I've found myself getting burned by three different buyers on TB. It's a shame people suck sometimes.

Well ... No, one cannot expect for the person on the other side to politely stop an email or text conversation just because youbthink it is rude. If that would be the case people wouldn't be able to do business the way it's done these days. Just the fact that you can reply an email using your cellphone put you in risk of having to stop the exchange abruptly. So many thigs can happen.
