Baer Amplification Megathread!

The great news about the M112 is that they are quite high efficiency, so heads like the Markbass F500, the LMIII, the Genz Shuttle, the GK MB500 will driver one or two quite nicely. The Markbass heads sound VERY good through these cabs IMO.

+1

I liked the LMII and the MoMark with the M112 a lot. (I will admit that I'm MB fan though) but I heard the M112 with more then few heads and Liked the LMII the most with it.

I would love Mr Baer to do a quick video run through of the Valkyrie, particular dialing in the tube control. Very interested in this amp.

As soon as we have a production ready Valkyrie in hand, we will certainly be doing some videos of this type.

Anyone playing these near STL? I'm sure I'll be jumping on a pair of 112's soon! What's the wait time to get a pair?

We are currently back ordered on the ML112's. We should be able to start shipping some cabinets again the week of the December 26th, or the week of the 1st. Orders will be filled in the order in which they were received.

Now these kind of issues are good ones to have. Just saying congrats to Roger Baer for getting this thing off the ground and for putting out what seems to be very well-recieved quality stuff. I haven't heard one in person but I love 2-way designs and when folks with good ears say things like it speaks a little more bass cab and a little less PA/monitor, that is very cool indeed.

We had 2 runs of 12" Eminence drivers made, one at a higher cost, hence the price increase when we switch to the second batch. All new neo designs, including the ML212 will be based on different drivers, as Eminence is not an option at this point with the huge increases to their pricing and minimum ordering quantities.

Sure this has been asked, but do you have an idea of when the ML212 might be available?

I'm using a pair - it's been great! I can't wait to get them on some more gigs New Year's weekend. I'm using a Streamliner 900, and it's a very nice combination.

What style of music are you playing and what basses with the STM900 and pair of ML112's? I have been looking at good speaker combinations other than a 410 that may be more portable and modular...like 2 ML112's... Do you have any recordings of the STM with the ML112's?
I play Warwick 6 string fretless and Lakland fretted in jazz/folk/rock finger style, as well as in a church group.

No recordings, but it's a wide variety of music with a wide variety of basses (Laklands, P, J, Upright). I even like the sound of the rig with effects, and that's not as easy to do. Very easy to cover any gig I can imagine doing with this setup. I definitely spend much much less time trying to get a sound than I did with my Markbass rig (CMD 121h + Traveler 121h)

Couvy:

Thanks for posting. I'm glad to read that you like the STL 900 with a stacked pair of ML112's. I say that because I have read a number of posts by TB'ers saying that the STL 900 is too "dark and heavy" (soundwise) for their taste, and they ended up selling theirs. They said the amp's mids are too polite.

Perhaps the ML112's, with the mid drivers, are a better match for the STL 900??

I'd agree that these cabs would mate well with amps that are almost too dark. I think the crisper sounding amps and/or basses can come across with too much cut if they aren't EQ'd well. I wouldn't call these cabs thin or bright, but "lean and mean." They certainly don't have any low end flab, and that mid driver can deliver some high end without going ice-pick brittle.

Does anyone have any experience or thoughts on the ML112's paired w/ the Shuttle 9.0?

MERRY CHRISTMAS!

I've used the ML112 with a 9.0 a good amount. These two play nice together. I've used it mainly with a Fender am dlx J V, and some with a Nordy P5.

The J V is a Maple board. If I need it, I'll dip a little mids at around 1.5k and I'm good. With the P5 I leave the mids flat and boost a touch of lows. Of course everything varies with the room, etc.
