Roger, that is great news and I do agree with everything you said about eminence. I'll be keeping my eye on your cabs as I continue my search for lighter and better sounding cabs.

Hey Eublet, thanks for the eq settings that you recommended for the shuttle, they are amazing!
Am looking for another amp to go with the ml stack, like the idea of an ad200 but not the weight, any micro suggestions from those of you who have had chance to experiment a little?
Looking for a growly fat tone.....

Check on the Aguilar TH500. Very small, very light, no tubes to mess with, fat, growly Aguilar tone, and a very relaxed top end, along with a VERY powerful semi-parametric midrange control, that would work very well with the ML112. Nice 'alternative tone' to the tight and bright Shuttle amps.
I used an ABM500 for years, so I'm very familiar with that head. Great sounding head, but certainly not the most user friendly EQ I've ever used. If you let me know how you have it set, I can probably help you out.
Thanks Robert!
I love the ABM and I never experienced any trouble with them so far. I always managed to get a great sound everyone in the band loved, so far.
This is a recent eq shot:
It is a UL made ABM500 EVO3! It sounds a bit brighter (just like the Klystron) compared to my EVO2. This has been confirmed by the Ashdown guys.
You mean Shape button ENGAGED, in case with the ABM this means that the Shape is actually off, right?!?...Next, make sure the SHAPE control is engaged. I never liked that head without it.....
... First off, get that input gain up higher. If that's where you normally run it at, it's far too low. You want it up around 1:00 or 2:00. ...
Orange TB 500! Not quite a micro, butt easy too carry and sounds amazing.

I do find it quite an intriguing little amp!

Although all my fav cabs (ALL their 1x12 and 2x12cabs) I had untill the ML112 have been Aggies, all their amps I tried (db750, ag500 & TH500) have not been my thing.

Always felt the Aguilars (especially the DB750, which is quite similar to the TH500) was a bit too dirty, a bit lacking in the ability to dial in the 'burp and punch' and definitely attenuated in the upper treble. They have their own voice. If you like an even, clean tone like with the LMII or whatever, or the sizzle of the GK heads, the Aguilar stuff is most likely not for you. Still can't come to terms with the TH500 and my ash/maple J... makes it sound like there is a bag over my amp. But with the P, oh my oh my (IMO)...fat, grindy, big sounding, warm and it roughens up a bit when you dig in.
Definitely a 'love it or hate it' type amp, just like the GK, which is strongly voiced in the other direction... super goosed upper mids and massive upper treble extension.
Well Ken,
I've been through a similar transformation as you: from active 60's/ash/maple JJs to a passive Nordy P(J)5.... (Maybe partly due to your posts)
But as for amps, our tastes are differingI like the SA200 though, as well!

Makes me think that the th500 May not be to my taste. I love open sounding amps that allow a j bass top end to ring out.
Thanks Robert!
