Bag End Cabs - good, bad, opinions?

I probably don't rave about Bag End cabs enough. I definitely like them, and they have a great tone for getting heard in a mix. I did a review of some 1x12 cabs a little while back, and I thought the Bag Ends fared pretty well.

these days i have two S15 cabs and two S12 cabs. Generally i use one of each, a single 15 at a small gig, a 12 at a coffeehouse, three cabs when i want to be obnoxious, and all four when i need to or just plain old want to.

ever try your S12 with one of the S15B cabs? i'm looking into that configuration and am curious...

I would do the deep 2x10 on top of the larger 18. The 4x10 would be complete overkill on all but the largest stages / arenas. That 2x10 can get really, really loud... The deep 4x10 by isself would be an awsome cab - not real fun to move but still a heck of a god cab.

+1 for the S-15D. I've got a pair of them that I push with either a SVT-VR or SVT3-Pro. They sound real good together!

I have two of the S15BD's and have had them for over five years now. The sound is huge! .

The S15B-D Bag End cabs are "the" Bag Ends to have! Much bulkier than the S15's, but man they sound good!

I'm a big fan of the S15X-D. When I first got mine I thought it was too harsh and punchy, but when I put it in a band situation for the first time, I changed my mind in a hurry. It's now my main cab, paired with either an Aggie S210 or GS112, or by itself. The sensitivity of the cab is worth it's weight in gold.

Speaking of weight - The Bag End 410 was just too heavy for me to justify lugging around. I loved it's sound just as much (or more), but they are really heavy. Their 15s are definately their signature cabs.

like my old S12 and S15... they will both be in the 13-ply Birch trim but with the molded plastic locking corners installed.

I'm hoping to score this by the winter.... I'm not currently gigging and my 1820 cabs are more that fine for rehearsals & jams at this point.

I've two S15-Ds, and for a very short while had three (I had imported one for a bar here and kept it for a few days).

They give so much useful volume while still sounding sweet, and in a truly small easy to carry configuration, there isn't much not to like. They pair up beautifuly and the gain in lows is appreciable, too. Throw out your conceptions of what a 15" cab sounds like, though. They are very articulate and cut through when you need it. They sound great at all volumes, and regal when pushed.

They sound equally good with tube amps and SS, and you will hear your bass' tone without heaps of coloration; what coloration that is there is musical, warm and useful in a mix.

Outdoors I need two to be heard properly at our band's levels, but they are so small I rarely use only one except in the tiniest bars, though I easily could without a problem.

They match up nicely with my NV610, FWIW.
