Would anyone be able to compare the difference between the S15 b-d and the S18 b-d? The 15's Get alot of love, and I was wondering if my 18's are as desireable. All I know is I really like them. Thanks.

I'm still waiting to hear a good comparison of the s15d vs the s12d. I've got a mesa walkabout coming that should rock with my 3 s15d cabs.
I used a pair of s15d's with my walkabout for a while. Pretty sweet rig - and very affordable for what you get! Great bang for buck IMO. I find the walkabout fairly extended in the highs compared to a lot of offerings today and it pairs well with these cabs. Also a good power match because of the high sensitivity... adding a 3rd cab would kill.
Seems like @tombowlus had at least one S12-D at one point.
Not sure if he ever owned a S15-D, but I'd be surprised if he didn't.
I owned an S12 and S15 for quite a while, if I only used one it was the 12. It was a little sweeter in the upper mids. Both similarly voiced though.

I did own an S12-D at one point, and I currently own a D12-D. I have never owned a 15" Bag End, but Invalid Link Removed.
Hm, I have three s15d cabs and if anyone was interested, I might trade one even up for an s12d, just to try. I never use all 3.

That should be a great rig! Loved my 800RB with the S15 stack as well - plenty loud!
By experimenting with 2 and 3 bag end s15d cabs, I found the best sounding situation was with 2 cabs on the floor next to eachother, with one of then propped up on a fold out handle to point it up a bit. It gave some low end fatness with clarity.
Gigged "The Stack/400+" last night. It was a club that I played with a GK800RB/NV-215 at. I know that it is apples and oranges. It seemed very musical, tone wise and squisiher than I am used to. The other tube amps that I own seem more linear. However, when I went out onto the dance floor, The sound was very punchy and clearer. This may have to do with rear porting when I was right in front of the amp VS out front. The GK setup was more immediate with a sealed cab -which I always liked, so I want to use this new setup in more variety before I make any real conclusions.

Hey Jackal, I would like to be a part of the BagEnd group, I am running the s15xd and s15d and have been doing so for about 5 years, the only change I would like to see for me personally is having an exact stack on the other side of the drummer, and possibly have them all in Oiled Birch, but I do not see myself playing anything but BagEnd!

The only thing I really noticed, When, I was playing out, ( Haven't played out for a while now) The new Album is all Pre Recorded, we did it all ourselves, to make sure we are content with everything, before we actually go into the studio and record it.) The guys, that were running our sound, just said it was a killer tone, and it made their job easy...as far as real room differences, that is going to be basically anywhere, you may have to boost or cut your Bass frequency, here and there, but overall no significant changes.

My band has no subs, so at an upcoming outdoor gig, I was going to use my 2 S18 b-d's running a full range signal into my Crest Pro-Lite 3.0, and engaging the 100hz. cross over on the one channel for the cabs. It will be 400w rms max into each cab, but I'm not going to push them too hard. Will 5his perform decently? Thanks!
