I used a pair of S18d as subs in a PA for years. Assuming you set it up properly they will work fine. And you can push them, you should cover the tops as well.

Maybe it's just me, but I cannot tell from your description exactly what you are trying to do.
We are just running active 15's on poles for the PA.. I planned on running the line out of the PA speaker into one side of my power amp, and sending the speaker cable out to my daisy chained cabs, with the 100hz filter engaged on that channel of the amp.
Should work.
Depending on the nature of the signal they're being fed, you might also want the HPF engaged.
Still loving these so much... The big rig and the gig rig....
Yesterday, we played a carnival tent with a few bands and mixed musicians. I decided to use the Mesa 400+ and Berg NV-215 and it was the host rig for the night. We were outside in a tent. This combo was much more satisfying to me than with the Bagend stack. The lows were controlled and solid and tone control adjustments were more responsive (which the Bagends were doinky sounding). Another big difference was, I was getting some tube squish that did not occur with the Bagend stack. I am not really used to that feel so it was a surprise to me. I got to listen to 3 other players through the setup and was really pleased with the results.

I should have asked here first. Anyone used an S18C? Any info on specs and such? Bag End S18C, manual, specs, experiance? I may be a Bag End'er soon 
Well, I decided to go ahead and bag myself the Bag End. It's shipping to work, then I'll bring it home probably early next week. If I can lift it
OMG that's a big, heavy box. I'm hoping there is a lot of padding in there and it's not quite as tall as it looks. My stack will not be earthquake safe!

Now I need help. It's sitting at work in an empty cube, hiding from the boss. I need to get it home. How the heck do I hide this thing from the night boss? IE SWAMBO? Certainly you fellas have run across such a conundrum?
It looks like the one in the big rig. But butt ugly gray rat fur and that gawdawefull blue painted grill. It might be the old old poplar/composite wood version, or hopefully birch and the artistic individual that painted it re-furred it. Any idear what those weigh?

Progress: She's home. I didn't get hurt real bad, but my voice is a good octave higher. No ZZ-top, Thorogood or Johnny Cash songs now, but it opens up a lot of other stuff to sing. Looked at the FedEx paperwork, 89#! I have until Friday to get it pretty and confess my sins or find a better hiding place.

Ever seen the jumbo size? We've got both. I hear hair clippers can help too. I'm thinking try to knock the fuzz down, then maybe see if I can find some carpet dye to get it not gray.
What was I thinking, if I un-fuzz it, I'll need a fuzz pedal!

I wish i could find a pair or 3 pf those S15 BagEnd cabs. I was not using my mesa WA combo so i was toying with getting rid of it for something i will use.
I just worry that the S15 won't sound full enough.. I've never gigged a pair.. I like that they are very efficient cabs thoughts.. Ive also toyed with getting rig of extra stuff to get a Barefaced cab... . Decisions decisions. ha

Naturally, no way I could leave it boxed in the shed until I can work on it. We have good news and bad news.
Very GOOD news:
It's newer than I thought it would be. The box in the shed just gave birth to a bouncing baby ELF! New enough to have the model on the back. So it should have the newer speaker. I think maybe the pre emi speakers might not handle the power as well, and if it were that old it might need some gentle volumes due to deterioration of materials. It's an S18B-C and mislabeled in the ad.
GOOD news:
Butt ugly, but not as butt ugly as expected. The photo and my memory made it ugly automotive gray fur; it's black. Butt ugly is good. It sat for 11 months in the store. Not that fuzzed up either. I probably just need to pick out the 1000 + white cat hairs, which will quickly get replaced with even more short white dog hairs, thanks to Tator Salad and T-bone (Jack Russel and Toy Fox). But the first impression mush be good, so we will pick those out. It caught my eye during my first and only quick walk through in the store. I didn't look closely, just made a mental note. So the photo and my memory are a bit off.
Bad news, just a little: Very little packing, other than the top, swollen up from patching together card board to make it fit, then one layer of bubble pack on top and sides. Not that it needed packing. They could probably have slapped a self sticking shipping baggie right on the fur and shipped it. Only the Fed Ex conveyor belts and truck would get damaged. Also the feet, the corner dealeos have been painted blue. So those need stripped and/or painted and maybe replace. None of this is major. If I don't get a container to go to the Philippines, I might have to cut it in half to fit it in a standard "Balikbayan" box. It will be close. Then some cheap labor can reunite the halves with PL and make the seam hidden.
Other news, there is a square hold in the baffle, I did not see any rear port as it was advertised. Closer look at that later. I need to finish some drywall work now
then telecommute to work for about 8 or 10 hours
So, there might be some lovely birch hiding under the fur coat? Now that would be cool. I'll have the cheap labor strip the carpet and redo it plain wood or another covering.

Got an hour of free time last evening. Got a look at it in daylight, pulled the grill and decided it can stay blue for a while. Washed off the splooge and pounded out a few minor dents on an oak tree stump I keep around for such purposes. I think I'll bring it in tonight or tomorrow night while she's at work, then let her "notice it." Photo's in a sec.

The "B" (big) cabs sure bring some serious bottom to any rig. Hopefully yours has the original Bag End (eminence) driver. I have the 15" versions and I love them dearly! There is a cover for the front baffle vent that can be used for making the cab sealed. I like it open with one but I like them sealed with two.
SVTB15, I have been gigging exclusively this year with the smaller S15D/S15XD combo and I personally feel there is no less feeling of low end with these cabs, they are amazingly capable of so much great tone. Ive even done more than a few outdoor gigs without PA support with them sitting right on the ground and they still bring all the tone and bass Ive ever needed.
