I have a S15XL that I swapped out the coax for a regular BE speaker. Never used the tweeter and wanted to ditch the extra weight. It goes a little lower than the standard S15; 40hz vs 50hz. As a result, it smooths the mids a little. My go to speaker for most live situations. If I need a little more, I add a regular S15. It never dissapoints.Anyone choose the L versions of the S15? The slightly larger cab may add weight but I wonder if it is overall more balanced???
Just curious... what do the various letter codes mean? X, D, L, etc.
I have both, what type of balance are you talking about?
Figuring that out is half the fun!Just curious... what do the various letter codes mean? X, D, L, etc.

Please add me..Just recently got into the whole "Talkbass Club" thing when I realized there isn't a club for Bag End. (Unless after my scouring I didn't see one.)
Would love to start one if there isn't one already.
All right folks, who's in!?

Yes.. locally..so sorry for the late reply!Hey 57pbass,
Did you sell the Birch TA pair?
Yes.. locally..so sorry for the late reply!

Finding cabinets for spare drivers has been cheaper then sourcing the drivers alone as they are a investment. It's too bad the Bag End drivers are so expensive. I can see why though, super easy clone to do if you had the driver, at least for the older 1 x 18's. 3/4" ply box and a hole for the port or no hole if you prefer sealed.
