I'm curious as to how TBers store their basses overnight, at home. Do you keep the bass in the bag any time you're not practicing, or do you keep the bass out, like on a stand, etc., and not re-bag it every night?

Well I've got my main bass on a stand in my room and the other crap one is leaning against the wall 
I've read that they're supposed to be good for the neck....
Mine's on a stand. Keeping it in the gig bag doesn't provide any neck support at all.

I've always heard you can prolong the negative effects of environmental or climatic influences by casing or bagging your instrument when not in use. I'm not sure to what extent I believe that, there may be a little truth in it, but I err on the side of caution and case my guitars at the end of every playing session.
I keep my basses in my music room, so it's just easier to leave them on one of those five rack stands. No harm so far, that I can tell.
I leave all my instruments out...guitars hang on the wall, piano stays out, and the bass stays out. If put 'em in a case or bag, I can't walk by and play for 5 minutes.
I probalby get an extra 30 or 45 minutes of playing each day just in 3-5 minute snippets.
They're meant to be played, not stored.

At any given time, two of my three basses are on a Hercules hanging double stand. The other is on a regular stand.
I never put anything in a their cases. Everything is on a stand..........
I own nothing newer than 93. If they're not messed up yet, they're not gonna be.......besides I want every musical something accessible to my kids. Keys, acoustics, my basses, whatev............they might like it (they do, just sayin)

It was temp and humidity that led me to ask the question. I was thinking that bagging my bass might protect it better from the elements. Curious as to why you say you can control these variables better with your instrument out on the stand.

I leave mine out standing in the corner or on its side. I find it is easier to play a few notes when walking by that way. And I sometimes keep playing for a few hours. If it's in a case, I have to make a conscious effort to take it out and practice.
I keep mine it's bag whenever I'm not practicing. Where I stow it, there's no option for having a stand, and I don't want the cats fiddling with it. Before we moved into our new condo, I used to keep it out all the time. So far, I have not noticed any difference between the two storage options.
